Neither can I :( Apparently you can clap or make any other sharp noises for it to work also.

Mine doesn't respond to clapping or making loud noises.
I can't whistle very well, so I've downloaded some .wav and .mp3 whistle files that do the trick.
But I have to be about 2-3 feet from the device (if there's no obstruction).
It'd probably be very good for people looking for their keys inside their bag.
Attach it to a pets collar, then just watch the fun start lol

@mizazn: One of the guys on the other thread said his worked okay, but other people did say a little pressure on the light protector and it started to go off.

Got one exactly like this when I was young at the dollar store. It kept going off without me whistling! Made me go crazy haha.
Exactly….these things were about in the 90's, and quite possible the late 80's. And yes, they are useless as they keep going with any loud noise.
They only reason you'd request one of these is to reuse the two button cell batteries!

Haha… These things are soooooo shit. I got one like a week ago when someone else had this offer. The beeper just goes off all the time randomly when I'm watching tv or when it moves. So shit. Freebie's a freebie though.

Haha. I grabbed one of these last time. I left it in my lounge room, and it kept going off when my TV was up loud :P They respond really well to whistles though.

I got sent one of these from the previous promotion. It doesn't seem to work with any noises I make… :(
If it doesn't work simply open it up (should be easy/fast) and reposition the metal clip or whichever part that aligns the batteries, you should be able to figure it out. If one looks out of place, then position it to look like the other piece. Should work great after this :)

I got mine yesterday from another site and it did work (somewhat). It worked from about 10 feet when I whistled. Unfortunately it also went off when I laughed or even talked loudly. One funny thing that happened was that when I was going towards my car to go home, a crow crowed and the damn theing started going off!! What made me take it off my key ring was the fact that it started going off when i was listening to my audio books.
I'm neging this product because it's too sensitive and goes off all the time. Taking out the batteries is the only off switch. Let's not encourage waste…even if it's free.
I think the negs on this comment are a bit harsh, this comment is a valid reason to neg the product, if it doesn't work as advertised…I remember having a remote like this was a pain in the butt… if your gonna neg someones comment at least have the decency to give them a reason as to why they got a neg!

I got mine a few days ago, From the previous offer. Goes off when my 12yo sister sings, or yells, or shouts. Whistling also works within 1-2 meters of it. Nice idea, but gets annoying when its beeping all the time.

i broke mine when i tried disabling the sound and only have the lights flash when i whistle but that didnt work out, it kept going off from doors opening and footsteps etc.

Yea if you missed out I wouldn't be too worried. Product is pretty poor, i took the batteries out about 3minutes after receiving it. Would keep beeping at the slightest sound of anything.
