    brilliant. thanks :)

  • Does anyone know if this supports lyrics with midi format 1 so files can be played karaoke style (eg with Vanbosco)?

  • Dunno about $70, it says "The program is available for $19.95, but it will be free for our visitors as a time-limited offer."

Still, this is probably about as good as it gets since they stopped offering Finale Notepad for free.

    • I think MagicScore Note 7 is possibly the same as MagicScore Classic 7 (USD $70) which is about the same download size, 6.1mb as opposed to 6.24mb.

      http://www.musicaleditor.com/music-notation-software-downloa…

Also MagicScore Note 7 isn't actually mentioned on their website possibly confirming it actually is MagicScore Classic 7 renamed so as not to compromise it's higher pricing.

      http://www.musicaleditor.com/music-notation-software-best-bu…

The other downloads are either smaller or more expensive.

The other likelyhood is that MagicScore Classic 7 is a degraded version of MagicScore Maestro 7 and MagicScore Note 7 is a degraded version of MagicScore Classic 7 which would explain the similiar download sizes.

Possibly someone familiar with this software series may know which is true.

  • I still like Sibelius, but will definitely test and see how is this program ^ ^

    • Will this software enables me to write the music scores as i play on the midi capable device? what hardware do i need to connect this from my keyboard to my computer? thx

  • It tries to put software informer on the computer, as well as the software. Is it spyware?

    • When you reach that step in the install, just click the "Close" button rather than the "Install Software Informer" button (It looks like it's the next step in the program install but is actually giving you the option to install the crapware). It is not required.

      • I tried installing, cancelling activate when it wants to put software informer on the computer. But when I start up Music note, it looks like it's asking if I want to buy the software or give it a try

    • Most probably adware. Just untick all the checkboxes or just close the dialog box using the "Close" button and it won't install anything.

Don't just blindly tick every box and accept all setting the program throws at y'all, eh? Take a moment to see what you're installing before you click the "Next" button.

if you have a program like winrar, and run the exe from within it, the informer file isn't unzipped, and simply doesn't run - check mate spyware :P
