does anyone know why perfumes/ETLs are so much more affordable these dates in general, and sold everywhere- chemists, perfume shops.,,and not just department stores. Are they real?

    • -4

I think the ones at the chemists are considered grey market and therefore may not be as potent

    • -1

Who knows. But I always buy my fragrance from Chemist Warehouse, no complaints. I think many fragrance have been watered down over time or reformulated though. My 200ml ADG I bought recently doesn't seem anywhere near as potent as the 100ml I had previously. Both are EDT though, so I can only assume its been reformulated.

  • I think this is a fantastic men's fragrance.

    • +4

      agree. light and subtle.

while still single, buy this yourself to pick up chicks.
cause once married, wife will supply you Lynx as gift. the
best way to propel unwanted invitation.

You seem to be implying that fragrances determine whether you pick up women or not which is presumably something you learned via marketing.

        • I think there's only a small handful of men that wear fragrances for themselves and not to try and win over women.

        • Expensive perfume may not guarantee success;
but bad deodorant spray definitely turns people away.

      • i mix my Sean John Unforgivable with Lynx Temptation and it smells so good.
        IMO

    • Me too. One guy noticed it on me at the self serve checkouts in Coles and wanted to know what it was. Women love it too, its a good alternative to Acqua Di Gio and cheaper too.

    • Agreed. I have used this one before and thinking about getting it again now.

    • I know rite !! Looks just like water from the toilet doesn't it ??

Great, if you want to smell like a chick :D

For a more manly cologne, you can't go wrong with Dolce & Gabbana The One - also at a good price…..

I use Sex Panther by Odeon. It's illegal in nine countries.

      Flares the nostrils…

I'm gonna be honest with you, that smells like pure gasoline.

  • The gf loves this on me, only last 3-4 hrs on my skin though.

  • How does this compare to Acqua Di Gio, which is $99 for 200ML ($89 if you can use the $10 off voucher at CW)?

    • Im wondering about this as well and vs Paco rebanne one million (sold cheaper via chemistwarehouse as well).

      • +4

I prefer Issey Miyake (Intense and Sport as well) over Acqua Di Gio because every man and his dog wears Acqua these days and it does smell much nicer. It's my summer office/casual cologne I've used the past few years. Plenty of positive comments. I wore Acqua as a teenager over 10 years ago.

Excellent price, pretty sure I picked up my last bottle for $100+ at strawberrynet or fragrancex.

    • This has a bit of a musky or powdery type smell to it compared to Acqua Di Gio. I love them both and rotate them. I do find that this has better projection and lasts longer on my skin, probably not watered down as much as ADG.

    • Acqua Di Gio 200ml is the only perfume bottle that I ended up using the WHOLE bottle. Timeless fragrance and perfectly suited for a night out since its got a classy fresh/ocean smell to it. Wore it to interviews, balls, dates, overseas travelling and plenty other special occasions. Always received a compliment by this fragrance. Guaranteed you won't be left disappointed. However, as mentioned before, more and more guys are using it too.

Paco Rabanne, I would not recommend. Sorry but in my opinion, it smells tacky and I would say it reminds me of Lynx. Something you would smell from a guy at the club that is trying too hard to impress. Take a sample and see for yourself.

Issey Miyake for Men, I have tried and will most likely be buying it. Its different, fresh, citrusy and well suited for this summer :)

Something I would also recommend for this summer is "Versace Eau Fraiche Eau de Toilette Spray" though I would only buy a small bottle (100ml), since its a great fragrance to wear casually during the day but not so much going out.

      • +1

You wore it on your balls? Agree with you on Paco Rabanne though. I bought the PR Black XS and regret it.

  • This is a good one, have used for year.

  • +1

I've used it for years. Any female that let's me into their personal space loves the smell.

    • -1

Next you're gonna tell me you wear Ferrari Black ($19) and your females love it.

For your knowledge, there is difference concentration of oil in these type of perfume.

A Cologne or sometimes called an Eau de Cologne or an Eau Fraiche is between 2-5% Perfume oil (lasts 3 - 4 hours)
An Eau de Toilette is between 4-10% Perfume oil (4 - 6 hours)
An Eau de Parfum is between 8-15% Perfume oil (6 - 8 hours)
A Perfume or sometimes called an Extrait is between 15-25% Perfume oil (Up to 12+ hours)

Also, alcohol and water evaporate quicker hence a liquid with more oils in it would remain longer. For instance, perfumes need to be dabbed on the skin, which lends to a more intimate scent experience, whereas an Eau de Parfume for example can be sprayed liberally over skin and clothes leading to a potentially stronger longevity. Of course, YMMV.

Thanks for drawing my attention to this, OP. I just went out and bought it for myself and I love the smell.

    • Hey, happy to have helped pupdog!

  • Gosh so tempted, but I just opened the CK free bottle last month and still have the 200ml CK one in the box. Both bought from CW.

    • Christmas deals Jared17, how long does it take you to finish a bottle (of perfume)

      • Depends on the volume but 100ml bottle probably a year or so. Does this deal happen once a year?

        • Not too sure.. Probably around the major selling times- Christmas, Easter, Father's Day and EOFY

        • @DaWeizOne: thanks. I'll hold off in that case
