    Fosters is very ordinary.
    Tastes like wet, mouldy socks.

      Tastes like wet, mouldy socks.

      What made you try those?

He wanted to get the taste of Foster's out of his mouth.

        • Now he needs to eat Durian to get the taste of wet mouldy socks out of his mouth

Big night and lost a bet!!!

It tastes alright if you're on holidays on a hot and humid tropical se asian beach eating freshly caught bbq'd seafood with the novelty factor of an Australian beer on the menu.

  • +3

I thought only Americans drank this stuff these days lol

    • +11

      Pommyland actually

      • +3

Yep, it always makes me smile when my mates in the uk post a picture of them drinking this crap.

Spent some time in the USA a couple of years back. Expected to see people drinking Fosters. Didn't see it at all, until near the end of the trip when I saw a homeless guy sitting on an abandoned buildings step in Seattle drinking the stuff…..

    • +3

its drunk pretty much everywhere except ironically Australia. Its not amazing but its no different to xxxx or any other standard Lager. I think it gets most its hate because the poms drink a lot of it.

Or 2 for $53 with the 5OFFNOW code.
Had some last night - I didnt mind them.

What is the best before date on yours? Mine are BB end of this month - probably the reason for the cheap price

    Struth, what a bonza deal!

Nothing wrong with Fosters or VB for that matter.

      Mother's milk

  • These are mid-strength? Only 4%

If you enjoy tasteless beer, Fosters is for you. It was a great drop… in 1889 and there was no alternative.

    • +1

      Amen to that.

    • This incarnation of Fosters I believe is different to the former versions of Fosters.

I wasn't around to drink Fosters back in the day, but having tried this I don't mind it. I thought it was a pretty reasonable drop considering is getting down moreso into mid-strength beer territory at 4% ABV….

      • 4% ?? Don't tell me!! Didn't VB try that and soon went back to 4.5% after they lost lots of customers? How stupid are they?

        • Well, no one was buying the original Fosters here anyway

  • It tastes a lot better than anything with a Tooheys label on it!

    • i know what you're saying but that doesn't say alot :P

  • This is the swill from the bottom of the Vat we sent to the Poms from memory

    • +3

At one stage when I was a kids, it was one of the most popular beers in Australia…..in Victoria you drank Melbourne bitter, VB, Carlton draft , or Fosters as the larger beer in the Carlton stable. Then somebody decided to leverage the mainstream Australian popularity of Fosters and target the export market ….. and ruined the brand and the rest is history.

BWS are Woolies, and so can you use egift cards to pay (same as Dan's) ? Damn - no cashrewards!

  • Does anyone know if this is online only or instore too? Would do C&C but not sure which store I'd be able to make it too after work.

  • +1

Local Bws only has cans. Fosters 6 packs are $15. Comparable mid strength Xxxx Pale Ales are $10, then u can get the John bostons for $10 as well if you wish.

Liqourlands $10 Heineken 6packs are another option.

    • They wouldn't honour the price on cans?

      • Nope, they are priced differently. In hindsight, probably did me a favour by not selling them to me.

  • WATCH USE BY DATE.

Fosters is brewed by collecting the dregs from recycled beer bottles and then re carbonating it and selling it to wood ducks.

  • Now $39
