Found the following coupon in my work kitchen. It appears they may have been handing out these flyers at the recent Carols in the Domain.

Valid for 1 week only (19/12-24/12)

1 Spend $100 or more in one transaction at any woolworths Supermart
2 Scan you Woolworths Rewards Card at checkout
3 Scan this barcode at the checkout

I am not sure if the barcode is unique or not but i doubt it based on previous deals.

  • It mentioned voucher cannot be redeemed if reproduced in any way. So if cashier rejected to scan photocopy, we can't argue. Good to go to self checkout, but $100 worth of item in self checkout bit odd (depend on what you are buying). Anyway good to give a try… Thanks!

I use these vouchers at self service all the time.

If they don't scan from my phone (quite often) I simply ask the girl to input it - never had a problem. They don't read the fine print.

  • Thank you! Worked fine at Hornsby with a print out… cashiers always happy to scan them.

  • Does this apply to gift cards? I plan on buying at least 20 adrenalin cards that are $25 each so could I scan this for every 4 cards?

  • I just got $10 bonus last night. Since then I have tried four local woollies today. It doesn't work any more. Is there anyone still using this code?

I haven't used it myself yet but I dare say it's limited to once per Woolworths rewards card

    • Is there anyone still using this code?

Used it successfully today, first time use.

  • It didn't work for me buying adrenalin gift cards. Nor did any points register for woolworths reward card for triple points biggest spend till Christmas eve. Might be best to buy woolworths gift cards online discounted..then make your purchase.. If your allowed to buy gift cards with a gift card

    • I think gift cards, tobacco, liquor and some others are always excluded from these offers..

I thought it was only their own gift cards where you can accrue points yourself and then the person you give the gift card to, can accrue them also.. Thats why they stopped it.. But I just don't understand for gift cards like adrenaline.. You can't accrue points twice in the same woolworths company

        • Negative. These offers never include buying gift cards, or mobile recharges etc @ woolies..

It's also clearly written in the terms and conditions if you have a look, after downloading the linked image in the OP.

  • Worked last night and Woolies did well out of it as I ended up spending $142.. (so as a promo it was great for them to get me to spend more..)

I only went in to buy some some cooking butter in the first place..

I sometimes wonder what the margin is in supermarket prices. Are Woolworths actually making a loss when we manage to get 20% or more off combining various bargains, loyalty incentives and discounted gift cards?

This promotion is around 10% maximum from the barcode, half a per cent from the base Woolworths points, half a percent from the bonus points on fresh stuff plus 5% on discounted gift cards. That's approximately 15% discount. Sometimes it gets much better than that. Are we making a profit by effectively getting our groceries for below cost? Sometimes loyalty bonuses and other deals make the saving over 25%. On rare occasions you can get 40% off combining targeted deals.

Do the supermarkets like us. or do they see us as loss leaders and the other regular loyalty program members as their bread and butter?

I think its the group of people that don't care about discounts and just grab whatever they need off the shelf, that are supporting these schemes and the bargain hunters

      • Yep, and remember we are already buying things that are already half price. So if we get $200 RRP for $75, how can they still be able to make money??? That said I do like to help WW clear out their old stock and buy heavily discounted fresh fruit/veg/bread.

  • Yep worked perfectly!
