It was kind of good before Google offered the ability to download offline maps.
This App is so damn good because of the offline feature. Absolute lifesaver when i didnt have internet connectivity overseas!
What's different between this and the offline download feature for Google Maps? Just curious, going to be travelling soon so looking at better options
I wasnt aware of the offline feature for google maps tbh. I just liked how easy this was to pick a city and download the map, you also had the option of downloading wiki articles about places and such. I personally found it great for China
I used this before but the maps (sourced from Openmaps) for Australia are so out of date and missing heaps of street names in Sydney. Stopped using it and used Maps.me as an alternative (with source from Openmaps too). Much better and up to date. The best alternative to this as well is HERE maps, which is totally free on IOS and Android.
I took this and maps.me on a trip to cairns. This used to be great when all it did was mapping, now it suggests places of interest etc which I found got in the way.
Maps.me is straight forward and even can do navigation to a destination. The instructions didn't say the street names, but instead would say "turn right in 200m" or something like that.
