  Never used a dremel. Should I get this for occassional DIY stuff with the house and car or would I be better off waiting for a deal on the up-spec'd models?

    first dremel i bought was the 8200 cordless. i don't have a dedicated work bench or garage with power points so the cordless one was the most practical one to get for my circumstances.

    keep in mind, dremels are for small/precision jobs e.g. i've used it for various tasks like modding skateboard parts, windscreen wiper clips, plastics and grinding out rust from my car. they can't replace proper power tools like a drill but beats using hand tools any day.

    you can easily spend more than the cost of the tool itself on the large range of bits and accessories.
