  • Can they be used on beer?

Probably want beer colder than wine I'd imagine :)

        What if you're British ?

Red wine vs white wine. Ale vs lager. Different drinks, different temperatures.

Saying that, most popular lager is so bad you need to kill its flavour by serving extra cold…

The Edge Brewing lager is very popular at our local drinking hole…

jv do you ever get bored of posting up absolute shite?

Even with your comments set to hidden, I still find them annoying because I know underneath the "show" button, is another unproductive, unfunny comment.

At least if you're going to comment on every single thread, make the comments mildly amusing..?

          that's subjective.

Do you get bored of posting off topic comments that have nothing to do with the deal?

Where have I commented on every single thread?

@jv: Now, could you not have just put that into one post instead of two?
Are you on some sort of delusional post count crusade?

You're just spamming and your comments don't add any value to any threads that I've seen other than to clutter up the page with absolute drivel - now please stop and find another hobby.

Pot…Kettle…? This whole back-and-forth is totally irrelevant to the post itself. Last I saw jv was at least talking about alcohol…

why? are you still using a 14 inch monitor ?

          What if you're British

Then you should be more concerned about your cricket team performance than the bloody temp of a beer.

      • You're right, but the optimal temperature for serving beer is still a bit warmer than fridge temperature, so would still appear at the bottom of this scale. From http://www.dummies.com/food-drink/drinks/beer/serve-beer-at-…

Serve most premium lagers between 42 and 48 degrees Fahrenheit (6 to 9 degrees Celsius) and quality ales between 44 and 52 degrees Fahrenheit (7 to 11 degrees Celsius).

        • I guess you need to roll in the room temperature as well, imagine if you're in a hot day compare to snowy mountain…

    • Some styles of beer. Such stickers will work for some specific beer styles rather well and for others, they'll be completely wrong.

There's a lot more variety in beer styles and the way they are served than what you will ever find in wine.

BTW: There are some beers that have had temperature sensitive emblems printed on the label for decades now. In particular, there's a low-alcohol / no-alcohol beer sold in the Czech Republic that has an indicator that changes colour when it's warm enough to taste like (insert offensive term here). It actually works - the beer is consumable when cold, but as it warms up it's lack of alcohol becomes apparent and the drinking experience takes a sudden dive.

  • I have nfi why but i ordered lol

      Net Financial Indebtedness?

      They're free !!!

  • +1

Thanks OP, got 10. Will go well with all the alcohol deals we've had recently. Is the $50 'welcome gift' just a discount coupon?

    • -3

      Thanks OP, got 10.

      That was quick… Courier?

    • +1

Yes, appears to be generic code WELCOME50 applicable only to "Cellar Door Exclusives".
Minimum order quantity appears to be 6 bottles, so $150 minimum spend (cheapest applicable is $25 per bottle).

      • so you gotta make a purchase to get the free sensor sticker?

        • No

        • No, just get some spam and that's it.

    • +2

Coupon is WELCOME50 - Looks like $50 off if buying 6+ bottles. Basically works out to be $100 for 6 bottles?

  • +2

    Spam mail here you come!

    • It's already started :)
They sent me Merry Christmas wishes 20 minutes ago.

  • +1

The welcome voucher is basically 33% off a cheaper $150 six pack.

  • Thanks!

  • -5

    I already got 1. It's called a refrigerator.

  • +3

Do not give your phone number, as you will be called at almost monthly intervals with specials. Unless you want to be called monthly that is….

  • I couldn't find any wines which I could use the discount coupon on. No wines marked as exclusive on their site

  • -1

The SPAM are strong with this one. I've let Google deal with them now.

  • Chilling a wine masks the bouquet.
But a nice cold class of Sauv blanc
would be great on a day like today😃

  • Did anyone actually receive these. I haven't, not as yet anyway.

    • Yup. Got three sets in the post earlier this week.

      • Maybe mine are still in the mail… 😆

  • Received mine in the mail today postmarked 11/1/2017
