    Is that true though? They're 35 Ohm which should be fine without, so I believe. Not correcting you, just trying to work it out.

      Most reviews say that they will greatly benefit from an amp. I don't know for sure as I haven't received them yet. This means that you could use them without an amp but may end up disappointed in the sound quality.

      Impedance does not demonstrate the load required to drive, if we were talking speakers, you would see x db at 1m with 1 watt power applied, I expect the same logic is applied to headphones.

      Planar uses a lot of juice, I believe the more expensive models are often driven with a balanced amp.

    Unfortunately they don't ship to Australia so you would have to use a freight forwarder. I agree this is a better deal if they shipped to Australia.
