Any example dates? I couldn't find a fare for that price. Cheapest I can see is $199.75 Sydney to Manila and $160.02 for Manila to Sydney. There are lots of dates available at those prices.

I can only get that price booking Manila to Sydney one-way or Manila to Sydney return for the inital segment. Booking Manila to Sydney return also gets a cheaper segment from Sydney to Manila (~$158) but for us is nearly $200.

$318 or so still isn't bad (though it's the start of monsoon season).

    • What dates did you pick
Rainy season hot sticky and humid

      • The link says all through June to August, not from May ("SALE PERIOD: UP TO DEC. 30, 2016 OR UNTIL SEATS LAST | TRAVEL PERIOD: JUN. 1 - AUG. 31, 2017"). Lots of availability still. Good for Philobargainers.

  • I checked every date in that price range using May 1 and then the right arrows for one way flights from Sydney to Manila/Cebu.

Cheapest from Sydney to Manila: $199.75
Cheapest from Sydney to Cebu: $246.06

Read my comment. I think someone already reported this bargain.

I reported it (for title)! My post was just copy paste from the report.

I did read your post, and that's why I checked the flights. It's very similar to mine. I wasn't clear from your comment that it was about both routes. (Actually, now that I reread the post I realise it's Cebu Air and not Sydney to Cebu, but the price of that route is also quite cheap.)

Basically I think the person who posted it was a bit rushed. The link says the sale ends Dec. 30 but the post above says it ends Dec. 26.
The post above says it's $118, but the link says starting from P4,199 for Manila to Doha, Dubai, Kuwait, Riyadh or Sydney (Australia). I think it's cheaper to one of those other countries but they are just lumped together with Sydney.

In my opinion, the post above should be revised to round trip Sydney to Manila for $359.77, the date range is June 1-Aug 31, and that the sale is on until Dec. 30. This is useful info, too:

        • Sorry I realise I wasn't very clear.

Cebu Pacific Air practices what's known as "dynamic pricing". One variant of this practice is making flight prices different depending on the origin of the customer. If you book a RETURN flight from Sydney to Manila you will be charged $199.75 for the Sydney to Manila portion and $160.02 for the Manila to Sydney portion (or $359.77), as you've described.

What I am saying to do is book Sydney to Manila only ONE WAY for $199.75.

Then, book from Manila to Sydney ONE WAY for P4,199 (there are lots of tickets still available ONE WAY for P4,199, which is roughly $118, SAVING you ~$42). Or $318 vs $360. Cebu Pacific Air does not hide any booking fees when booking from the Philippines, unlike most Asian low-cost airlines.

Dynamic pricing has recently become standard for low cost carriers. It's not always cheaper booking each leg separately though so it pays to play around.

        • @peterpeterpumpkin: Yes, I can see that price now. The post was for Sydney to Manila, but the P4,199 promo is Manila to Sydney.

So this means a round trip ticket is more expensive than two one way tickets. $199.75 + P4,199 should be around $318.

Too bad I reported it already. Hopefully a mod will catch it and update the above.
