First time a "brand name" (LG/Samsung/Sony…) 55" UHD has been sub $1K?

      • Ah thanks, this works to be slightly better deal with store credit but a lot won't care so the linked deal was superior (+ it was over five weeks ago and TV prices are dropping from month to month)

    • If you count Hisense it was $795 a few weeks ago.

      • +1

hisense even sounds like good quality

      • Not sure if I would put Hisense in the same tier as LG/Samsung/Sony/Panasonic.

Fingers are crossed for a brand name 65" with HDR for under 1500

  • wonder what's the cheapest 65" OLED tv now?

    • There are only two 65" OLED's on the market.

      • +1

        Theres 4.
        B6 Flat 65"
        C6 curved 65"
        E6 flat w/built in soundbar 65"
G6 flat signature oled w/ soundbar and full glass panel design 65"

    Hmmm samsung or sony 55?

    • -1

All depends on the model. Samsung and Sony quality has dropped and now some models are not worth touching, others are OK.

      • +1

        Samsung

      • Why are some models not worth touching?

        • I would think its bcause they are good at higher end models, not so good at entry and mid level. Or more realistically, other brands are better at mid to low end.

I had both and can say samsung smart os is much better, the two issues are:
      * EPG seems to fetch data from internet so it takes a while everytime you want to see TV Guide, the sony one is almost instant.
      * Can use smartphone app to turn your sony tv on if both are on same network, Sammy's app only let you control the tv once it's turned on.

But that's pretty much the only thing that Sony is better, everything else is primitive:
      * remote is not very sensitive, have to make sure you get clear line of sight with IR receiver to work while Sammy one you can literally point it to the wall behind you and it still works.
      * take ages from turning on to use all of its feature
      * app and video playing always start from fresh if you close and reopen it later, while Sammy one remember the position last time you played and continued from that, even with Youtube (which could be bad if your kids can resume their favourite clip anytime).
      * very picky with video format, just like and apple ipod or ipad
      * has to format the whole usb into proprietary format to use for recording, while sammy's tv can just record on pretty much anything thing plugable into its usb

  • For nespresso enthusiasts, the EN521R at $199 after cashback is the cheapest around.

  • If you don't want store credit LG 70UH635T is cheaper ($2,449) here or price match at Good Guys?

  • Go pro at $488 is prob cheapest price from major retailer, cheaper than Harvey recent $497 price which I bought at this week.

  • Logitech mobiles wireless speakers
    X50 is $24
    X300 is $49

  • Great mobile. I have to say the last of the best handsets made by samsung.

  • They keep trying to flog off that crappy 6000 model when they need to do deals on the 8000.

    • They have it for $1495 now.

  • Yes, the Samsung 55" TV is under $1000 again. I accidentally broke the screen when I bought it with this deal.

  • Any feedback on the LG?

  • Are you sure that Samsung UA55KU6000W 55" TV is dropping in price? I don't see it in the sneak peek preview and it's still currently $1495.

  • Ends 5am 26th, when does it start for stuff that isnt the TV? S5 is still showing at $499.

    • +1

Exactly my thoughts. Revoking my positive vote for now until it's actually confirmed.

  • What size is the S5 storage? Is it only 16GB? Anyone know how much bloat is on it & if there's any way (short of rooting) to move apps to mSD?

I'm thinking of this for my daughter over Xiaomi, only because so many people here seem to have issues either with the Xiaomi or with the seller/shipping.

    Ta!

    (And happy holidays, all!). :)

    • Yes it is only 16GB and the bloat is there but not too bad.

  • Anybody have the link for the tv, can't find it on the website for $995

    • This seems to be three separate deals with some overlap.

There is a Boxing Day sale starting on 26th.

There are some of those products that have been discounted pre-Boxing Day, but not all.

There is a $50 store credit deal that finishes 5am on Boxing Day.

    • yes it is still 1495

  • So, when can someone in WA actually purchase the Galaxy S5? Weird the sale ends at 5 AM? WTH?

  • OP, what's going on? It's almost 5 AM and the deals are still not active?

    • I stayed up pretty late (early hours of 26th) in WA & finally went to bed. No idea when they actually reduced the S5? Anybody here manage to snag it w/the $50 in-store credit? I just gave up.

      Still thinking about the G4 Plus….same price as the S5 w/o the in-store hassle….

  • Help please— for those up-to-speed on mobiles:

Opinions on Galaxy S5 vs. the Moto G4 Plus?

  • Thanks OP. Just bought the Sony 55" (KD55X7000D). Almost grabbed it last week but glad I didn't. Saved around $300 which will now be blown on wall mount/installation.
