Apple MacBook Air 13" 128GB - $1297 Harvey Norman

210

Thought this was a fairly cheap price for the base model MacBook Air 13". (My first deal post, so go easy on me). Seems to be about $80 cheaper than most of the 10% off sales.

I combined with the Amex Westfield and Harvey Norman on both my cards bring the price down to $1047 for me.

This is part of Boxing Day Sales for 2016

I had purchased this laptop last week, today they gave me a price match difference

  • Westfield offer has expired. Not sure how you would combine it anyway.

    • If you buy westfield GC before than you can combine it now

    • Re Westfield offer, I think OP meant he got a Westfield giftcard (presumely before that offer expired, spend $80 for a $100 Eftpos card) and use the Eftpos card(s) toward this purchase.

      • Eftpos card can be used anywhere so it's hardly combining offers.

        • That's probably why you don't see OP puts $1047 in the title.

  • Bought 2 from OW 3 days ago for nearly $1400. Any way to get difference back?

  • This or the surface pro 4 for $888? Any thougts?

      Things to consider:
      MacOS vs Windows
Macbook air has an intel Core i5 and 8 GB of ram compared to the Surface's intel Core m with 4 GB of ram
The screen on the Macbook Air is very low res and TN compared to the Surface's high res and IPS (better viewing angles) display
The Macbook air has better battery life (12 hours) compared to 9 hours on the surface pro
The Surface pro 4 also has a touchscreen and can be used as a tablet/laptop if you buy the extra type cover.

Personally I would buy a more expensive Macbook (retina) or Macbook pro if I wanted a Mac. Out of the Macbook Air and Surface Pro 4 I would get the Surface and buy the extra touch cover purely because the air's screen is terrible.
