Missed out on the Bose QC 35 through the Microsoft deal so had to look for alternatives. Saw the Sony Kiosk at castle towers was selling these MDR-100ABN for $199 as opposed to the retail price of $499 (jbhifi still selling at this price). Hopefully this helps someone looking to buy a decent pair of wireless noise canceling headphones. Will upload receipt once I am back at home. Happy bargain hunting!

      Anyone asking these questions should really consider going to their nearest jb Hi-Fi and test all of them out.

      I was glad I did since I found I didn't like the plastic materials of particular Sony models (such as the one in this deal) and preferred the fit and sound of their metal ones instead (Mdr 1bt).

    They aren't as good as qc35 but they are also half the price at the moment. Wouldnot pay 499 for it but definitely would pay 200. Actually I tried too at chatswood but lady said it was all sold out. Ohh well will wait for next sale.

      I definitely agree with you. These are not as good as the Bose QC 35 but they are still really good value for the price

      Sony has never been great at customer service from past experiences. They may not reply you until the deal is over.

    Take the risk for a refund and then they are sold out in store and return to rrp and lose out altogether.

      I spoke with Sony this morning and they told me the debit from my card was a "soft withdrawal", which sounded kind of kinky. But they assured me the money would be back in my account this week. I shall keep an eye on my account.

      In other news, I got a price match on a set of these Sony h.ear on cans from Harvey Norman and I've got to say for 250 I'm chuffed mate. Yeah, could have gone to Parramatta and got them in red for 199 but red? No, you're alright mate.

      I've got these cans in black and look smart as a carrot, they sound ridiculously good, the noise cancellation is insane and I'm chuffed to bits. I did a tester with the Bose Qc35 and these are easily as good. I have no complaints whatsoever. And I have $150 extra in my pocket. I think I've won.

      I did a tester on the MDR-1000x and yes, they did sound the business but an extra $400 - or even $150 at the discount rate - better? Not a chance. For $250 (or $199, you lucky bastards) these are the boys.

          Actually didn't have to. They said the charge shouldn't have gone through as the transaction was invalid on their end.
