24 Razor Blades for $24 - Shave 4 Less

50

Shave 4 Less currently has 34% off their 3 blade cartridges when you get 6 packs. That's $1/per cartridge.

I've used these for over a year, they don't last as long as Gillette but nowhere near the cost. The give a nice smooth shave. These blades need the handle from the site, you can't use them with the Gillette handle.

100 DE blades made by Gillette https://www.amazon.com/Astra-Platinum-Double-Safety-Blades/d… with a Fatip grande razor, very good low cost and quality option.

Like SlipperyFish above, never looked back after going with DE.

Not to mention no more red face after shave.

    • As an OzBargainer I should've done this ages ago, cartridge costs are ridiculous.

Now to look for a decent handle.

      Thanks.

There are many good handles out there, Edwin Jagger DE89BL, Merkur Futur, Feather AS-D2, all of which i have, and all are different, the EJ is my goto and the lowest cost of the three. Fatip Grande razor is a good one for testing and a good one for entry level to DE, and its made in Italy, a great deal http://www.connaughtshaving.com/fatip.html Muhle is also very similar to EJ.

EJ is made in UK, Merkur in Germany, Feather in Japan.

        • Thanks for the helpful information.

The Fatip Gentile Grande CHROME Safety Razor is AUD $32.72 delivered.

The Edwin Jagger DE89BL can be had for under $45 delivered.

  • I won't shave without a vibrating blade anymore, it's NOT a gimmick, you can make a half blunt razor last literally 3 to 5x longer with a vibrating handle. It stops pain and snags and yeah. I shave my head regularly and only need to swap out Gilette blades every 2 or 3 months.

    Seriously.

I'd love to switch to cheapie DE blades or Aldi but without a vibrating handle? NOPE.

    • Lol, if you understand how blades blunt that makes 100% logic. As a blade dulls it get micro chips and folds ect, the vibrating makes it like an electric carving knife for your face.

This is $1 a blade. I buy these Feather DE blades. Much better shave and much cheaper at $0.35 a blade

Into Astra's myself but I don't think any self-respecting bargain hunter should be paying for horrible multi-blade cartridges. DE is the only way to go.

    • Used to use Feather but found them too sharp and ended up cutting myself often. Switched to Astra which are not as sharp and far fewer nicks, still have to be careful though, can't go to town like you would with a cartridge blade.

      • Try a gilette blade, came with my handle and they NEVER cut me. The trick is to get the correct angle imo.

The posted deal is a joke.

Here is a cartridge deal that works out a few cents less delivered for a brand name http://www.connaughtshaving.com/l1131p.html

There's a world of different options out there.
Paste and Cut are an Aussie forum dedicated to traditional shaving and unlike I who lurks, probably wprth signing up to seek advice from.

after seeing this thread I might move on from my supermarket blades when they run out. They seems to be lasting for freekin years after I got some via OZB a few years ago. end already!

I dont know anything about these DE blades (is that what they are commonly referred to as?) so I'll do some research, some of which I can take from above. Thanks for the inspiration.

      De means double edge razor.

Even if you buy a cheap $3 or less handle off eBay just to see how they work, then move to a better one.

  • Also a DE user! So much cheaper in the long run!
