Homemaker Pasta Maker and Noodle Maker $25 (original price was $69) @ Kmart

160

I find this from Kmart. It is clearance sale. $25 for a homemaker pasta and noodle maker. It seems to be nationwide.

If you like to make your own fresh pasta or noodle but do not want to pay more, you may try this.

Kmart has its own video for this pasta maker (below).

Are you sure that it's in Target? It looks like it's in a Kmart store to me…

    • Sorry. It is from Kmart.

  • +1

    It is Kmart not Target.

    • Sorry. It is Kmart.

  • It's a kmart brand. Also available in top ryde shop.

  • $17.49 at Spotlight for somewhat different product: https://www.spotlightstores.com/kitchen-dining/food-preparat…

    • Looks like the Chinese ALDI rebrands which fall apart easily after a few uses. Rubbish.

A good post by the OP, but I'll eat my hat if more than a handful of people would ever use this again after the first try. We all have these sort of appliances tucked away at the back of the cupboard somewhere.

    • +3

Will you make hat noodles first?

    • Squirting out fresh pasta seems like a winner to me. Hope it's nationwide!

      • Usually pasta in kneaded and rolled……. So presumably you'd need to make a softer wetter mixture than a traditional fresh pasta recipe. That said, spaghetti is extruded……So that could be the go.

        • +1

No, it's the opposite. The mixture needs to be dry and crumbly for this to work. We have a pasta extruder not too different to this (New Wave branded) and love it. I put on the water and can make a fresh batch of fettucine before the water boils. You can't get any fresher than that and you can't beat the taste of fresh pasta. We previously had a roller for pasta and that was a PITA and eventually got chucked.

I can't vouch for this particular machine but extruding is the way to go if you want convenience.

        • @bigrizz:

          Interesting. Nice review. Thanks.

Maybe my prejudices about home pasta making come from the hand roller machines…..which aren't worth the effort.

      • I eagerly await reviews from OzBargainers re: this appliance.

Somehow I dont think it'd be as easy as we think it is to make pasta out of something like this at home. Like I'm imagining it coming out then the strands sticking together and becoming glued into a horrible mess once you try cooking it.

Surely it's still cheaper, easier and quicker to buy home branded pasta ready to cook…

        • Fresh pasta is totally different from what you buy that is dried. I did try making it with the roller machine and it's never turns out properly. This machine look so easy to do from YouTube videos

  • Its not on the Kmart website.

    • Not online. Similar as the $150 blender from DJ (not on their website but in stores only).

  • I will just buy pasta or noodles from the shops..

    • wholemeal (the only pasta worth eating) is quite a bit more expensive in the shops

  • None at Campbellfield n northland

Might want to update first post to show original price was $69

    • Thanks for the information.

  • Wow, haven't been keeping up … but making pasta nowadays is that easy? (from the pic of the appliance).
I don't make pasta nowadays, but when I did some time ago, it was very labour intensive with the stainless steel pasta maker … a good workout :-)

  • I hope they're as good as the Phillips.

    • I think the Philips is better than this homemaker. This is what you pay for.

      • But 12x the price.

    • Is it just me or was that pasta just not coming out? And it seems to only make a tiny portion of pasta at a time.

      • You need to use your finger to push them out manually.

  • Plenty of stock at Brandon Park, I almost picked it up and decided the cupboard was full already, A mate has the philips unit and swears it's awesome

    • $25 in Brandon Park?

Does anyone know where to get wholemeal flour in bulk for cheap? For making pasta/bread.
Buying 1 or 2 kg at a time at supermarket is kind of expensive. Thanks.

  • Flannerys in SE-QLD (http://flannerys.com.au/) has organic wholemeal flour in 5kg packages, we use it to make our own bread, don't know with pasta.

  • Got one two weeks ago and didn't know it was clearance price. Love it! I wish it came with angel hair noodle mould though. For $25 , I ain't complaining .

    • It's good to hear that you enjoyed it.

For the skeptics among you regarding making pasta by extrusion, commercial pasta is made exactly the same way. Check out this video.

  • Can i get the store location?

    • I found this at Innaloo, WA.

Someone said he found it at Brandon Park (Melbourne). If so, it should be clearance price nationwide.

You may try to call Brandon Park to confirm.

  • About 8 left at Ingle Farm Adelaide

    • Good to hear.

      I think it is nationwide.

  • Bought one today and tried it out. Fantastic for $25!
