  • Business customers once again screwed.

  • Brilliant thanks so much, you just saved me $72!

Can you tell us what telstra services you have with them for you to have access to this offer please? Thanks in advance!

      • I had Telstra TV with my internet/phone/foxtel bundle

  • Great Post, thanks OP

Best post in a while. $72 for free!

Install Plex on Roku (Telstra TV)

This gives the TelstraTV box Plex - making it much more useful as a home media player.
https://www.engadget.com/2014/04/08/sky-now-tv-plex/ - confirming it works with the TelstraTV - have done it to both mine

This for the win! Thanks trivever!

I only have a home phone service on my Telstra account. I try to get it but it comes up "No mobile accounts found" with no access to any offers. Bummer! Weird considering apparently people with only a Foxtel from Telstra on their account are getting the 6 months free.

  • So, just activating a $2 sim card will not work, correct?

    • Roll of the dice. But will get at least 1 month…I think.

  • I can see the offer in my Telstra account but when I click on to redeem it, I get 'safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding' error. Is anyone else getting this??? I'm using my iPad.

  • I get told "Log in with the same Telstra ID that was used to activate your Telstra TV."

  • Hmm… Current netflix user paying via google play (Telstra Credit). Whe I go through My Account - Telstra TV I get the bonus but when I log in to Netflix to apply it I get ….Sorry, we are unable to complete the sign-up process now. Please try again later.

Anybody struck the same problem and have a solution?

    • Upthread people who subscribe via iTunes or Google are all having this problem. You have to cancel your sub, (presumably) wait for it to expire, then redeem the Telstra offer.

  • Just been to the Telstra Store and advised that buying the Telstra TV outright is not eligible for the free 6 months Netflix.

    • I bought my Telstra TV outright about a year ago and this deal works for me.

    • That's not what the online Telstra store says…
      Quote
" Enjoy summer with a bonus
      6 months of Netflix.
Indulge in the shows you love on Netflix when you
activate your Telstra TV before 14 February 2017.
Telstra TV can be purchased outright and is
also included in the M and L Home Internet Bundles
      on a 24 Month contract. "

Well I went to a Telstra store and the girl was 100% sure I could not use Telstra TV unless I had Telstra Broadband service. I wanted to argue but she was so assertive. Moral. Don't listen to them they don't have a clue.

      • True, I bought one, activated (I'm with TPG) after few resets and et voila - free 6 months of Netflix.

  • Awesome, recontracted my broadband a couple of months ago, got a Telstra TV, picked up an iPhone 7+ on that $95 Go plan:

Redeemed both offers and now: "Your $119.88 credit will be applied to your next bill."

    • p.s Both redemptions stated $71.94 had been redeemed successfully, how two lots of $71.94 add up to $119.88 is a mystery, I also don't care, cheers OP

      • Do you have a US Netflix account or Australian? If US it's probably just the currency conversion.

how do i get this offer on my xbox one? I dont have telstra anything. What's the cheapest way i can get this

  • cheers!

  • -3

    Does NOT work.

I pay $100/month for a Telstra cable on 24mo contract and the offer is NOT available.

The only offer I see is "1 month of Netflix - free for new customers"

Do you have a Telstra TV? cause if not that would be the main reason why.

    • As mentioned, you need a Telstra TV and you need to activate it the actual hardware, linking it to your Telstra account. Sadly, I didn't activate my Telstra TV, and just sold it off.

  • Awesome, thanks for posting this! Worked fine for me, now my Telstra TV has a reason to be plugged in :)

  • Thanks for the info.

  • so this stacks if you have multiple services?
ie, can apply multiple "6 months free" credits to the same netflix account?

    • Correct. I've succesfully applied three x 6 months free.

      • Awesome. Just did it twice.

      • Did you do it with multiple Telstra TVs? if so did you use same Telstra IDs or different ones?
I have a 2 spare unopened Telstra TVs from NBN upgrade and going to register them but not sure if I should can use my Telstra ID for multiple TVs and get the offer multiple times or not.

        • I had two Telstra accounts. From memory it was available on one account because of the Telstra TV and mobile service and on the other account it was two eligible mobile accounts. It might be a safe bet to activate them on two separate accounts. Then again I'm not sure if you can just create two accounts without having two separate services.

  • Can anyone confirm if this works with a $2 sim?

  • -4

    what is telstra TV?

  • I want to buy one on ebay but there are lots of people selling them ( brand new ) hmm, maybe they already claimed the codes and lying about never used/opened

  • Found the same, buying new $109 delivered - $72 Netflix credit. Great deal if you subscribe to Netflix.
I ordered last week, warned of delivery delays but arrived within 4 days!!

  • Saw this in the opening offer Netflix 6 month offer: Valid for 6 months of Netflix Service when you redeem before 14 February 2017 on the AU$11.99/mth

Went into account and it said this: Must redeem 6 months offer by 31/03/17. Which is great as don't need to use it for another month, until I use the free month offer.

Thanks for the heads up OP.

Then I just saw this as well 31 Mar 81 days left in the OP Maybe read a bit further before posting :)

    • Wait, so I can still activate it but don't need to apply it in my Netflix account until the 31/03? I've been waiting to use it but if I can do that, that'd be great!

    • You can activate now and apply to your Netflix account - You get $ value in credit so you will retain you current free month.
      I did that !

  • Wow i've just seen this now!! My free 3 months of Netflix was coming to an end next month aswell phew thanks heaps @reslo

  • On a $70 Go Mobile BYO and was only offered 1 month. Although I currently have 12 months of apple music with Telstra so maybe I can't double up?

  • Can someone confirm if you buy 2 x Telstra TV's and activate both to same Telstra ID that you can claim 2 x 6 month vouchers?

    • I had 2 Telstra TV's on the one Telstra ID and could only activate the offer once. I did deactivate one and moved it to my phone/MBB Telsra ID and got another 6 months though.

      • I asked somebody else in Whirlpool and they said the opposite to you.
Maybe you can do it only if you deactivate the first one before activating new one? What you said doesn't make sense to me because the offer is only available on the first activation AFAIK

  • Check your credit card bills because someone on Whirlpool just said his/her credit card is still being billed by Netflix and the $72 credit balance has dropped.

    https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2460405&…

  • cannot find it under offers.
i installed telstra tv first then signed up for netflix..
    could that be a reason>?

  • Thanks OP! I even redeemed my parents offer so 12 months Netflix woot woot!

    • On one telstra account or two?

      • Also interested in this answer as I have activated a Telstra TV on my Telstra ID and got 6 months Netflix however I have another 2 unactivated Telstra TV's for different rooms and am wondering if I can activate them on the same Telstra ID and get another 2 lots of Netflix or if I have to somehow set up another 2 Telstra ID's? (which isn't easy as activation of your sim requires identification and then it must cross check your id and adds the new sim account to your existing Telstra ID…. I know casue I tried!!)

  • Amazing deal, thanks so much OP!

  • Expired now? Not listed in my Telstra TV offers.

    • Nope, I just did it. It says until March.

      • Yes now working for me when my iTunes Netflix sub expired. Telstra 24*7 help got it all wrong.

  • Here are some instructions for those who, like me, also had trouble redeeming the offer:

Note: You do not NEED a Telstra TV device to redeem this offer

    1) Download the Telstra TV+ app on the phone associated with the offer
    2) In the app, click on the MyOffers tab (use mobile data on the Telstra network so Telstra can identify you. Do not use WiFi; Using your Telstra login credentials won't work)
    3) Click on the 6 months Netflix offer and you will be redirected to your browser to enter in your Netflix credentials

Netflix: Available on $75 Go Mobile Plus Plan and above, $75 Go Mobile Swap Plan and above, $50 Go Mobile Plus BYO Plans and above, $35 Go Mobile Data Plan and above. Valid for 6 months of Netflix Service when you redeem before 31 March 2017 on the AU$11.99/mth “Two Screens at a Time Streaming Plan” (total value $71.94).

    • Which would be exactly the same as going to https://hub.telstra.com.au/offers using mobile data?

      • Perhaps. But some people in the comment section have said that they had to use the Telstra TV+ app. Whatever works for you, I guess.

        • +1

True, sorry didn't mean it to sound like I was having a go at you, just figured they both show the same information so you'd think they'd get it from the same source? Either way, guess whichever one works!

        • +1

          @Porthos:

No, you're fine mate! You're probably right - it'll just work through the URL as long as you're on the Telstra network.

        • @skint: That's what I figured, but this is Telstra we're talking about, never really know with them!

  • edit - deleted. answered above

  • Thanks OP. Still working 28th February.

I just purchased a Telstra TV off gumtree today for $50 unused.

I thought I was screwed and would only get 1 month netflix - which was what kept showing when signing in to https://hub.telstra.com.au/offers.html using my telstra broadband account.

Turns out I could get the 6 months, but only if I access the offer by logging in to the following website (after connecting TTV box to my net and activating etc):
    https://tv.telstra.com.au/

  • Confirmed the 6 months free deal has appeared for me in Telstra TV+ app. Don't own Telstra TV! On Go Mobile Plus BYO $50 plan.

    Says it expires 30 March
