Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Multifloor Vacuum $597 (RRP: $699), Animal $748 (RRP: $899), Animal Pro $847 (RRP: $999) @ The Good Guys

The Good Guys are selling Dyson Cinetic Big Ball barrel vacuums with $100-150 off RRP (depending on model). Pretty good deal coz Dyson vacuums are not usually on sale. It's the same on their eBay site. Might be cheaper if you wait until their 20% eBay discount that is offered from time to time.

  • Normally $899. Wait for the 20% code

  • I agree that the reasonable price should be min. 20% off the RRP. Hopefully we could see more discount given in next 1-2 quarter.

There is a dyson at David Jones for $399 on sale not sure if it's the same model thou. Check it out.

  • Just bought a Dyson and used it for the first time today and previously having a sumsung vacuum for 2 years (would not recommend sumsung vacuum). Vacuuming was actually enjoyable as it so smooth over floor boards, it's light and the design to very ergonomic.

For those looking below are summary notes from my research:
    - Difference between the 2 types of models Multifloor and Animal: is the head of the vacuum - the Animal is better for carpet floors [source:Sales rep at Harvey Norman]
    - Harvey Norman has an exclusive model called the Absolute(http://www.harveynorman.com.au/dyson-cinetic-big-ball-absolu…) which includes all/most accessories which adds up to ~$300 if bought seperately.
[source:Sales rep at Harvey Norman and David Jones]
    Absolute model sold $800-$900 [$834 as at 4:00pm 02/01/17].
I bought mine on boxing day for $904 with 4 years of extended Warranty on top of 2 years manufacturers warranty (6 years warranty altogether).

    Hope the above helps

    • Multifloor's head is automatic switching between carpet and floorboard modes.

Animal's head is one of those spinning turbine things.

You can get the Animal turbine head for $135 (free shipping) by calling Dyson AU. Or just buy Animal, of course.

I guess sumsung is a copy brand of samsung. Which is why your vacuum doesnt work

  • Well the Absolute V8 was normally $849 on 1 Dec so these prices seem expensive… was $799 TGG price in store a couple of months ago when I asked… has Dyson gone up in price? Ref.. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/279641

    • You'll find that Absolute V8 from TGG is the Handstick not the barrel type (Cinetic big ball) vacuum, whereas the Cinetic big ball Absolute is exclusive to Harvey Norman.

      • Whoops my bad! I've just been educated in the line of Dyson Ball vacs… thanks

  • Thanks OP, bought the cinetic big ball animal last month so I'll make sure to grab the $100 back!

  • Going to wait for Good Guys 20% off I think. Finger's crossed we get a bone within the next two months, really need a new vacuum.

  • There's a 20% off promotion going on a Betta if anyone's interested (no click & collect, so you'll need to pay $20 postage)
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/287748

    • Multifloor goes for $498.40 delivered
    • Animal goes for $618.40 delivered
    • Offer no longer available now, seems like they've decided to end their listings early.
