  As a new player what should i be getting outside the core set? I ordered the core set last time from BD but they canceled my order so i got it from Amazon instead.

    It's up to you really at the end. The mistake I made though purchasing expansion is that I bought the Force Awaken Starter Set (First Order and Resistance) but the expansions I bought are all Rebellion and Empire. This made my initial set practically useless in terms of the fighters provided. Otherwise I just buy whatever I like, I loved most of the Empire's craft so I ended up playing Empire vs Empire with my friend most of the time.

    Otherwise the Imperial Ace and Rebel Ace are good to start. Try to avoid the large crafts like Lambda Class Shuttle and Imperial Assault Craft as there are new rules associated with it and can get quite confusing if you haven't gotten the hang of the initial rules.

    Don't rule out getting a second core set as your next purchase or early on. It's been at prices which put it at close to the 'per a ship' price of a standalone pack but gives you extra movement pieces etc.

    Given the size of the play areas its nice to have some extra movement pieces.

      Are the expansion Tie Fighters/X Wings the same as the core set ones? Or do they come with diffrent cards?

        They come with different pilots from memory. Don't recall there being any overlap.

    I see there is a TFA core set and the orignal core set? Any major differences or just updated figurines?

  Yep, they've been in and out of stock for a couple months now, but look to have most of the smaller fighters back in, which is good. I picked up my whole (not huge) collection over recent months from BD. Great pricing compared to retail, just keep an eye on a wishlist to check what stock comes back.
  They did have the original core set, Falcon and Decimator recently too.
