          Singapore transfer, a couple of hours. Sydney, SG, Guangzhou, and back. August in my case, but were plenty of tickets in that deal.

    As this flight transit at Guangzhou, may I get off/on at Guangzhou? I think for the outbound leg, it will be ok, but I don't know whether I can do that with the return leg.

      on the website you can change the booking to be a multi-stop so you can pick when and for how long to stay.

      it does bump the price to $431, but still a very good price.

      When I went there a few years ago, I think it was around $130ish AUD for a double entry visa.

          Those prices are correct, but they exclude the $49.50 application fee. So the prices are $109.50 and $139.50 respectively.

          If you go in to the visa centre, you can have just one person go (provided all forms are filled out completely and correctly). But allow 4-5 hours to do with the queue time and the time it takes staff to double check your application is completed (before they accept it).

          They need to hang on to your passport and then next week all going well, you get your approval back the following week along with your passports.

          That's for Melbourne

          Sydney is much more efficient in my experience (even though some have warned of long waiting times).

          Ive applied twice in the last 2 years and never waited more then 15 minutes to submit (5mins for the staff to check) and even less for collection. The standard processing time is 4 business days in Sydney.

          Is the 4-5hours wait when you have a prebooked time for submission via the webpage?

      Unfortunately it's the same in other countries requiring a visa ….. Vietnam is AUD $95 and India is US$60 (just for VoA electronic verification ).

    It's a good price but consider the pollution… Sure it's probably worse in winter than spring but it's really no joke. I was in Xi'an (Beijing is generally worse than Xi'an) just last week and the air quality index was mid 200s (very unhealthy) and my lungs were feeling it, my chest felt a bit heavy. I'm not asthmatic.

      That's quite high….. Considering Sydney sits about 20 on the same index. But it's the luck of the draw and the season you go. I've been to Beijing when the index was around 40 (Perfect blue clear skies), and again when it was well over 200 (dark and miserable ).

    FYI - For those who have booked flights through this deal, you might want to login to CheckMyTrip and check to see if your flight times have changed. My original 6 hour layover has changed to a 22 hour layover.
