While most chargers claim to be 40W - this Tronsmart charger is 54W and can provide greater amps across all USB ports simultaneously to provide faster charging. One port features Quick Charge 2.0 while the others have VoltIQ. Unlike other brands this charger has been Qualcomm and UL certified.

What is Quick Charge 2.0 and VoltIQ?

Tests have shown that a 3500mAh battery can be charged from 0% to 60% in only 30 minutes for any compatible device using Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 technology.

The charger also utilises a technology called VoltIQ that is able to detect the charging protocol used in the device to provide the fastest possible charge (up to 5V/2.4A) without the risk overheating, overcharging and short circuiting etc. This is suitable for other devices that do not support Quick Charge 2.0 (5V/2A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A) including the iPad and iPhone.

List of tested QC 2.0 compatible phones can be found here

      Code doesn't work rep!

  • Is this charger beneficial to iPhone users?

  • Why don't any of the wall chargers come with native AU pins? I mean come on, China's plug is practically identical!

    • You can buy any figure 8 AU plugs, they are cheap as on eBay.

      • Yes, for this charger that's true. I'm talking about the other Tronsmart chargers that plug directly into the wall and are only available with North America/Japan, UK, or Euro plugs.

        • It's because they do not comply with Australian Standards.

Looks like the QUICKTSMT coupon has expired, do you think another one will be available?

Anyone else getting the expired coupon message? I can't seem to get the discount for some reason.

  • Im still waiting on those anker ones

    Code expaired

  • That went quicker than expected. I'll see if they can extend it further on Monday.

    • Any luck :)

      • It's 7:46am over in China. When they're online later this arvo I'll know.

        • let us know

      • Try now.

        • Thx & Purchased!

    Yep coupon QUICKTSMT is expired.
Tested CARROIDMI and it's still good (-$6 off = $8.99US).

  • Waiting for new code or QC3.0 5 Port

  • Coupon has now been extended.

  • Thanks for extending coupon, just wondering if this or the 'titan' model is best for a family with iPhone 7, iPhone 6, iPad mini, iPad air, UE Booms - have looked through the comments and links but still not sure!

    • This is the best choice as the iPhone and those other devices do not support Quick Charge 2.0 and will use VoltIQ. This also has an AU cable with it.

      • Thanks - what happens if you plug a non supported device into the QC2 port? It just charges as VoltIQ or something?

        • Correct.

  • I got the tronsmart on spesh a while back for $19.69USD, so this is a great deal!

This is the perfect travel companion! I used to take a power board, lol but now I just take this and a travel adapter. Only issue is when I charge my DSLR batt or laptop which uses up my travel adapter, otherwise this does everything else. GoPro, phone, tablet, power bank, etc, etc.

QC 2.0 is perfect for the quick top up when ducking back to the hotel for whatever reason.

Can't go wrong with this bad boy :)

Hey OP… Any chance of a $20 charger+6-pack cables bundle again?

    Cheers

      This.

This is what we're really hoping for.

  • These guys are hopeless! My order is still stuck at processing for over a week. Shipped some accessories but not the main article (different warehouse?). The accessories are really useless to me without the tablet. Don't respond to emails either. Might just lodge a paypal dispute and get it over with.

Or ask the rep for help. GeekBuying and most other Chinese companies had 3 days off last week for new years. If you PM me your order number I can have it looked into.

      • +1

ok thanks, just sent you a message.

          ….

        • and then there was silence! All well and good spruiking their stuff on OZB but service and fulfilment is atrocious. Lesson learned NEVER to buy from them again.

  • Anyone's chargers been shipped yet?

    • no first time bought something from these guys

    • Mine arrived today. Gotta pick it up tomorrow from the TNT depot, then can test next to the Anker chargers I have.

      • +1

let us know how this went.

        • +1

Yeah went really well. The Anker remains the primary charger in the kitchen/dining room and the Tronsmart from this deal has taken residence in the bedroom.

Plugged into it are a 3DS USB, a couple normal USBs for Androids/cameras/DualShock 4s etc, and a couple iDevice plugs for an SE and an Air.

I'd say, without having done super close monitoring of these things, that the Tronsmart is every bit as good as the Anker we have in the kitchen for these devices, anyway. Certainly my Redmi Note 3 Pro charges every bit as fast on the Tronsmart.

So when you consider the relative price difference between the two, I'm over the moon with this.

        • @LaTerrible:

          Thanks for letting us know…

        • @Rakddon:
Mine shipped yesterday according to the tracking info .

  • I'd be interested in one of these chargers that supports qc 3.0 also.

BUYER BEWARE before buying anything from GB. I've been screwed around for a couple of weeks now and no idea where my item is. The store rep was no help either despite of promises to look into it. My be I'm just unlucky.

  • Teardown and review by a charger enthusiast. Conclusion:

The usb charger can deliver the rated current, but gets very hot. I do not expect this to be a big problem in real life (It will very seldom be fully loaded). I do not really like the peak noise, it is rather high.
The missing common mode coil on this high power charger probably means it is transmitting some radio interference.

Due to the high noise level I do not like this charger, but it will deliver lots of power in a safe way.

  • mine arrived yesterday., all good

  • for car charger that has QC2 will this affect the car in any way? ie more petrol consumption or weaken the battery etc etc?

    • +1

Nah you'll be fine. I've been running off QC3 for about a year now with other devices and no car battery issues.

  • Is it just me or has the price for the splitter gone up to $20.49?
Edit: ignore me, I'm an idiot

    • Must be you. I've added one to my cart and got $8.99 US.

      • I got confused because I was in AUD and I forgot to add the code in.

  • Coupon QUICKTSMT is expired, or I am too late for this…

  • Yep, expired again :(

  • @clear - Any more available?

    • +1

Nothing right now but maybe in the coming weeks.
