      eh?

  • +5

it is three months later !!

  • Great. Just drowned my Oneplus One. Any good deals on phones like Lenovo ZUK 2 or Xiaomi Mi5?

    • +2

I wouldn't risk buying a phone through aliexpress. Its only good for cheap things imo

      • Why's that?

        • Once you've marked the goods as received you can't make any claim. so, compared to PayPal, Ali offers no protection should your expensive product fail soon after purchase.

You are protected against received your product dead on arrival though.

        • +3

@ash2000: you will have 15 days to make any claim after you marked your goods as received.

What I usually do, delay marking the goods as received and try to extend the time as much as possible and consider this my warranty period.

        • +2

          @msmhw:

you will have 15 days to make any claim after you marked your goods as received.

Oh ok, I haven't seen that before.

delay marking the goods as received

Yes, I do this too. Smaller items I mark off straight away so I can keep track, but expensive items I run the clock down.

        • @ash2000:

Never used Ali Express before, but over EBay. How do you use it safely, assuming no paypal.

Also, what products are good to get from Ali and anything to avoid?

          Cheers

I have never received any cashback from Cashrewards by shopping at AliExpress. Cashrewards always claim that I made untracked transactions

    • +5

I can confirm that I receieve cash rewards for my Aliexpress transactions. I just need to cash out my rewards which is like a whooping $8

    • +1

I've always received cash back with Aliexpress - ordering on phone. Others previously have reported cash back. So not a valid reason for a neg.

      • +3

Unfortunately i think technically it is

        • +2

Yes, technically a reputation issue. But who's? Possibly not due to CashRewards or Aliexpress, but issues with individual's process of ordering not triggering tracking.

        • +4

While I have had a totally different experience, I do agree and believe it is a valid reason to neg. It is not that dissimilar to not receiving goods purchased.

    • +9

136 items purchased from Ali, 136 claims tracked.

    • +1

been with CR for 6 months - no problems to date - used a variety of stores, both chinese & aust.
some items not tracked - had to claim manually - but all worked fine.
make sure you use a PC.

      • I've had no problems & always use a cheap Android phone.

    • +2

Something on your end. Browsers and/or security products (like AVG) blocking tracking cookies will cause the purchase not to be tracked. Clicking out of the tab, closing and reopening the tab can do it too.

Cashback isn't available for the app either.

      • there was no reason i could pinpoint, but certainly since that google attachment thingy started everything is tracked.

        • Only time I had issues was when I had products already in the cart or I continuously added and removed products. Now I just keep them in the wishlist.

        • I've added the Cashrewards extension to Chrome. Hopefully I will get paid cash back for purchases from now on.

That is good to hear that others get their cash back, even if I haven't in the past

        • +1

          @Pandamony:
Try to make this a habit when you want to purchase a site with cashrewards available.
          1) Disable ad blockers temporarily
          2) Find everything you want to buy first, add them to cart or wishlist. (Usually when you click through the cashrewards website or extension, the cart doesn't clear/ gets saved).
          3) Click through the cashrewards extension (easiest) or go through the cashrewards website if extension not available
          4) Immediately purchase.

You want to minimise as much time and steps involved from clicking on that cashrewards link, to payment, to ensure the highest chance of the tracking working properly.

So many things can go wrong.
If it doesn't track within a week, contact the cashrewards support page!

@cwongtech: Thanks for the tips. I will give them a try next time I want to purchase something from a site with Cashrewards available

        • @cwongtech: Does it work this way?:
          Method 1:
          1. Save your links with Aliexpress you want to buy.
          2. Close your browser ( taken you dont use a 3rd party ad or cookie blocker) and open again. If doing a big purchase, delete old cookies.
          2. Open browser -> cashrewards -> AliExpress.
          3. paste the links and add to cart.
          4. Checkout.

          Method 2:
          1. Note the item and seller you want are interested.
          2. Close browser.
          2. Open Browser-> cashrewards -> AliExpress. (delete cookies if doing big purchase)
          3. search items or seller directly from that link -> add to cart and checkout.

Which way has worked for you. I have always used method 2, but still sometimes sales are not recorded. Dont use ad blocker or anything. Same anti Virus.

        • +1

          @Gaggy:
          I always use method 2.
Method 1 has a massive chance of failure by using urls to bounce to different items.

I never delete my cookies personally or turn my adblockers off. All of my sales have tracked from aliexpress and eBay

        • +1

@cwongtech: Tracking cookies are used by affiliate networks to track purchases. If you've disabled or deleted cookies after clicking through CR there is a higher chance of an untracked purchase.

        • @Clear:
Gaggys' method 2 without deleting cookies then :)

        • +1

@cwongtech: That's the way. Also starting all over again if a mistake is made. That way the cookie can be loaded again.

    • +2

My Aliexpress purchases track faster than any other store I use. Not had an issue so far

      • Same. Aliexpress tracking is faster than ebay for me.

        • +3

I put it down to Aliexpress's sweatshop tracking factory

  • +1

I actually needed to buy some replacement warranty-is-void-if-removed stickers today from AliExpress..
    Thanks!

  • how long dose it take them to appear on your cashback page?

    • usually a week to appear, but then another 8-12 weeks for the cashback to be available for withdrawal.

      • Does
  • Great price on the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum

    • link?

      • Great is obviously a subjective term….

        https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2016-New-CHUWI-ILife-V7S-sma…

        • Did you see on the page - they offer PayPal. So may open a dispute through it in case of issues.
Plus PayPal gives some money for return postage.

PS: But since you are paying not through Ali, you will not get cashback

        • Yip, that's the one. I paid $540 when it first launched. With the cash-back this deal brings it down to about $400. Great price for a really formidable vacuum

Still waiting for my order from 11/11..bit unsure with aliexpress sometimes..

    • heh. I paid for DHL Express shipping for a Xiaomi MiMax phone, it was supposed to come before Xmas but now they tell me it'll get shipped AFTER January the 15th.

      • Why not cancel and reorder?

        • wow..didn't know DHL can be so bad too…usually I could get things shipped within a week with DHL or UPS

        • seller wouldn't let me cancel, and neither will Aliexpress.

Since it left their warehouse they just keep telling me "we already ship your order, your tracking number is [string of numbers]. Have nice day!!" Yeah, I will have a nice day once I get my order, thanks..

When I check the tracking code on DHL and 17Track all it tells me is that it's still in Hong Kong.

        • @scrimshaw:

They've given you a tracking number , but then tell you it won't ship till mid January?

        • @ash2000:

Yeap. First tracking num they gave me back in Dec 12th — this was apparently 'lost in DHL's warehouse' when I contacted the sales team in Dec 27th.

The new (2nd) tracking number they gave me didn't work (Jan 2nd). I pestered them about it and opened a dispute.

Another tracking number was then supplied two days ago. I got pretty frustrated by then and asked them when exactly had they posted the second parcel (presumably, perhaps they're waiting for the first failed delivery to return from DHL). This particular one they told me is shipping on the 15th.

    • @Droid

I'm still waiting for a package from 11/11 also……I ordered about 7 times on that day, they've all arrived at differing times over the last 2 months, one came last week.

By contrast I ordered a couple of cheap items on the 1st of this month, and they arrived today. Shipping services and customs clearance seem to be back to full speed now.

  • Can anyone confirm if cashback does not track when you use store coupons?

    • I had a sale track last year whilst using a coupon. YMMV

  • +2

Check your rates. Last time mine tracked at the wrong rate. Was corrected after lodging a dispute.

  • looking for a light weight 10" tablet, windows or android. so long as it's fast & light

  • Always curious how cashrewards gets a profit of website cash backs?

    • +3

Cash rewards gets % from the site for the referral due to agreements they have made. They keep some, you get some.

  • +3

Didn't get cash back from Cashrewards last time. Marked "Declined".

    • +2

That means the vendor declined the cashback. Usually happens when a coupon is used. Did you contact CR?

  • +2

Still waiting for the cashback from last AliExpress 11% Cashback deal. After all the emails CR rep is investigating !!!
I did used their extension and was showing cash back active.
Earlier tracked cashback declined for Expedia and another old telstra deal, So far negative experience with cash rewards. May not be true for others. Try ur luck !!!

    • Sometimes it's a breeze and then other times it's a pain in the arse having to contact them about untracked claims or pending rewards that have exceeded the approval date (typically months).

    • -1

Aliexpress 11% for 11/11 singles day?
Mine have showed as tracking, but expected clear date for cashback is 9/02/2017 for me.
Expedia one has been paid out for me for purchase date 16 Sep 2016.

  • +1

    Thanks op!

  • Was thinking to get something from AliExp for over $400. Would be some savings.
Will you trust Amazon or AliExp. for buying similar items and approx. same price? Only cashrewards will make Aliex. cheap. Will check some reviews and action…

I was going to buy some more Anker usb cables but found that the Anker AliExpress store (https://www.aliexpress.com/store/1873942?spm=2114.12010108.0…) now states "Can not deliver to Australia". I bought one from them a few months ago with no issues. Anyone know more about this or ways to bypass the restriction?

    • I want some more of these Anker usb cables too. They are great, but no longer ship to Australia yes

  • Used on one of the fake Fender Strats!

  • +1

i buy cheap toys like pokemon plush and licenced kids clothes normally ok

  • Would anyone risk getting a Oneplus 3T from Aliexpress? With cashback will come to 540ish - which is way cheaper than anywhere else. Is it worth fronting up another $80 to get from say DWI?

    • Contact seller directly and ask if they can take Paypal payment which will be safe. Else ALiExp has no representation here and is China base, so can be a bit tricky if things go wrong. Paypal offers shipping cost in case of returns

  • Was there another 11% cash back from Aliexpress around Dec 15ish 2016? Can anyone confirm it?

    • Yes. One day from 15th to 16th December.

  • Just curious -

When you guys choose the free shipping option when buying stuff off AliExpress, do the items eventually get delivered via AusPost when it comes, or via a courier?
