$10 to checkin? god, they charge for everything these days.

  • lol at the airport fares!

  • how come the fares arent buy one get one free even when i get to checkout?
whats with the $30 convenience fee? geez…

  • Forgive my laziness in not trying to book one first to find out but…

    1. Are these really a good price? Considering the number of cheap flights/specials to these destinations nowadays, and what seems to be lots of "hidden" charges from Tiger…
    2. Will Jetstar price-match these?
  • I just went through the booking process, even up to the "payment" page it is still requesting full payment.
    Dodgy…

    • Are you booking within the timeframe the special is for? Its working for me

      • Woops, I just noticed I did book within the time frame specified but did not select the discount fares lol. My bad

  • What they DONT show is airport fees and tax, which in my dummy booking ended up being just under $60 on its own

so what you think will be a $62 flight for 2 people ends up being almost $120!

    BEWARE!!!!!

I'm going to go ahead and give this a negative. It is a saving but "take a friend for free" it is not.

Yes, you can save a couple of dollars (eg. Syd -> Melb is $24.48 per person instead of $28.95), but it is not 50% off.

A sample booking for 2 people same dates and flights with and without this "special offer" yielded 97.92 AUD with the so-called 50% off, and 115.80 AUD without the offer applied - take this as a warning as to the actual savings you will get from this offer.

    • prolly means it needs to be reworded

its not get ur friend free
but get ur friend a bit cheaper

      around 20% cheaper
      which is better than nothing!

      • It is better than nothing. But without a negative I thought theres the chance people might book flights thinking that those $24.48 fares are half price. I am using the negative to draw attention to this as not everyone will read all the comments.

    • Sounds like this needs to be reported to the nearest Consumer Affairs…

Tiger is one of the worst airlines.
They charge soo many extra fees that I remember I ended up paying alot more than the actual fare was about. They always advertise the seats @ like $30-40 and then you end up paying $70-80 which is just rediculous.
People should be mindful that there Melb terminal is just ridiculous and their service is just unbareable. I remember the pain I went through the last time I flew. Their terminal didnt have the aircon on, coz they wanted to save costs!
They advise us to come to the airport 1 hour in advance to check in, which I did, and I remember I was there in this long queue for over half an hour when they announced that those who will check in late will incur a fee!!
This is Bull****!! I also remember I asked the inflight service for some ice with the soft drink I ordered, they ridiculously charged me for the ice!!!
I wud prolly give them 10 negatives!

I'm gonna give a neg, agreed with abdalian - with the extremely poor service i've received (delays of 2hrs each time, at Sydney airport staff just disappeared after telling us to move terminals, no updates or any clue as to how long delay would be)..
It just makes it not a good deal unless they pay you to fly with them

Use Tiger to get price-match from Jetstar with good service….at least the 5-6 times I have flown with them.

  • I'm giving + because its still an ok deal. I booked a flight to Melbourne

  • no need for free friend ticket, we need actually 50% off, BTW any one can help to show me how to use the price match service of jetstar, can i email them and what information need to talk ? thanks all

    • all you need to do is call the jetstar call center. let them know you wish you book using their price beat promo and provide the details of the flights. a consultant will verify the price and book it in for you over the phone. so long as the destinations are the same and the flights are within an hour you should be right, but check out jetstars terms and conditions page on the website to make sure. i booked flights using this not too long ago and it was really easy.

  • Im not sure if this has been updated recently or not however on tigers website after putting in the promo it does show a list of destinations and says the prices will be "UP TO 50% off" so that could explain some confusion.

  • MEL-Adelaide and SYD-Gold Coast has a regular price of $38.95 so it is half price, but not MEL-SYD.
