Xbox One Wireless Controller with Play & Charge Kit - ALDI (Darlinghurst NSW) Reduced $69.99

70

From their last December 2016 Special Buys
http://www.catalogueaus.com/aldi-catalogue-10122016-14122016…

Originally Aldi selling for $79.99, now $69.99.

Considering these cost $109.95 at Microsoft Store and ebgames currently, $98 in JB Hifi currently. So there is a $30-40 saving.

This was at their Darlinghurst store (they seem to reduce prices quicker at this store), check your local store. Not sure of quantity at this store, one in the display cabinet, the supervisor got one from the storeroom.

Maybe wait a bit longer it may drop to $49 at Aldi??? If there is any left. I will keep checking later but I thought $69.99 was a good price.

Looking at the packaging stock is from 2015 possibly. Battery life issues?? I currently use Aldi (<$6) rechargable NiMH AA batteries in my current controller, I get 10+ hours per charge which is great I think.

Also
The Xbox One games Minecraft and Forza Motorsport 5 was at $19 each now. $5 off the original price.

Also I am not sure if there is a difference between a Xbox One and a Xbox One S controller. The one I got has the 3.5mm socket on the bottom according the box.

  • Difference between X1 and X1S controller is that the S has bluetooth connectivity

    • …and a few other improvements, e.g.: the S has an OK d-pad (the 360 d-pad is pretty poor).

    • Thanks.

      Just looked again;

The Xbox One Controller and Play and Charge Kits at Microsoft Store, JBhifi and ebgames seem NOT to be the S versions.

As long as it works with my Xbox One S. I do not really want to connect it to my PC, I can use my S one for that if I wanted to.

      This price is okay right?

      • It's fine. I saw some issue brought up regarding the new controllers and the responsiveness of the Xbox button and it seems like there may be a QC issue with the new ones anyway. Personally I use eneloops instead of a play and charge kit, coz eneloops.

    • +1

and really minor thing but One S controller has a textured grip and it has different colour.

      • Oh yeah forgot about that. The textured grip is actually really nice!

  • Aldi Bowral,NSW. XBOX controller with charge kit - $69.99 as per this deal -https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/287020

Still three left after I bought one.

    • The store I went to in my original post still has these (no idea how many stored in the storeroom). Plus the games for $19.
Been a month and the have not dropped the price any more like their other products.
I am thinking the cannot lower it any more.

If they drop it again to say $39, I would be in for another. Will keep waiting and looking.
