Good Drop are offering pretty good discounts on their Belgium beers. Most are close to their use by date or past it but it doesn't matter too much as these Abbey-style ales improve with age. It's just a shame they're not offering Chimay Blue.

Duvel is the only one not past the best before. It's not such a big deal with these Belgian beers I've found, but I would want deeper discounts to buy stuff past best before personally.
Sadly shipping kills this for me ($15 flat to Brisbane) but if it's cheaper in your state/area or you chuck in a bottle of scotch or something from their pretty great range it's much more palatable.
Chimay actually gets better with age, you can cellar it like wine. Use by date is just there for "legal" reasons.
Often it's just stock turnover reasons, not a legal one. Stores don't want it sitting on the shelf for 5 years and it forces them to move it along.
I was actually disappointed when I bought Chimay Blue on sale at Gooddrop last time and it wasn't all that old (about 12 months from bottle date). I buy 24 bottles every christmas and stash them in the closet until the next christmas.
Yeah. I'm more surprised that the price hasn't changed since the last offer before Christmas, same beers. I was hoping they might drop more.
Still great prices though.
The half cartons for Chimay with the $15 shipping is utter rubbish though.
I just added 2 cases of Duvel to cart and also got a free 4 pack of Viru (worth $20 apparently) thrown in for free.. with $9 shipping to Sydney that's pretty good :)

Yup Duvel is a terrific brew and it's to be drunk from small glasses not by the litre.

LOL! Considering the actual official Duvel glasses hold well over 500ml, and they come in a 750ml bottle as well, that is an understatement :P
Lovely beer though. Not my favourite Belgian beer, but I have part of a 12x carton of the tallies and a 24x carton of the shorts.
1 Duvel and 1 Chimay red delivered (+ some Eastern block freebees) for $115. Exceptional value - I'm not worried one bit about the expiry dates
Received mine yesterday with the 4 Viru as promised.. Very well packed (each Viru was individually bubble wrapped!) so would definitely use again
