My last ones from masters had plastic handles and didn't last long, hopefully these metal ones will be better.

  • Strong holding capacity to secure loads
  • Complies to Australian Standards AS/NZS 4380
  • 200kg lashing capacity

Edit: Cannot find any pricing history but these are $15 with plastic handles so maybe between $15-$20 for similar quality.

        So no deal then?

I bought some of these a year or two back and my advice would be to spend more on better quality.

I did the same a few years ago. One of them broke on first use. Wouldn't recommend.

  • I have hte masters ones and they were great. I really only use it for tying things down on the trailer, or the kayak on the roof.

Bought these to secure a canvas on to the car when it wouldn't fit inside. Interesting experience. Can't comment on Strength as very light load, would love to know the easy technique for releasing them though

Same as all ratchet straps I'd imagine.

      • Open ratchet as far as it'll go.
      • Compress spring mechanism to release ratchet from teeth
      • While compressing spring, open ratchet wider
      • Pull ratchet end of strap towards you, tie should release easily
      • Thanks for that - everything up to stage 4 went to plan last time, I'll give it another go, if I ever use them again :)

  • Damn, paid $25 for these exact ones on Tuesday :(

Got these for same price 3 months ago. Even if it's normal price it's still a good deal.

  • Be wary of these, used them a few times on motorbike trailers and other jobs, they ALWAYS break under load. That said for light use they are fine, just dont use them for important or expensive items.

Different price point, but I like the value of these.

    • That actually works out cheaper for 4, than a 4pack of 25mm light straps… even from most places on eBay or SCA etc.

  • whats the length of these?

    • +1

whoops just saw it my bad

  • checked these out today, theyre a bit light duty for my purposes.. wouldnt trust my car being strapped to a trailer with these..

    • 200kg rating. πŸš— maybe not. Maybe πŸ‘Œ for lawnmower

DO NOT BUY THESE! I have these and they are useless. The strap material is weak, the sewing thread is thin and falls apart and the ratchet system jars and locks when opening and the metal buckles under light load even when just tightening.

  • Very thin strap that is easily cut. Would not use on roof racks, just using to stop items moving around.

  • They also sell rubberised non-ratchet ones :-)

I've used these things for years. You are lucky if you avoid scratching a vehicle with metal ones, even if you are most careful about it… every time.

Rubbery ones are much better if you don't want massive heavy duty straps. They stop any chance of scratching your paintwork. Cost a lot more, but come in varying lengths, and are of decent strap and ratchet quality too.

Also, the ratchet ones can be lethal let alone jam frustratingly, even when you know how to use them, even expensive ones jam up.

Not quite what the OP put up, but the Gripwell ones with fully rubberised ends are easier to use.

Medium length (4.5m straps) area good size if you have a roofrack. It seems I'm always a few inches short using them with anything shorter.

Worth the extra in my book
