  • Why not NSW?

    • Why not?

      Why do you think that?

      • +1

You edited the deal to include "NSW/VIC/TAS/ACT/SA" only seconds before posting this comment so maybe that has something to do with it?

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/288775/revisions#569809vs5…

        • I thought oscinator did a good job to list the start date as 24th even though QLD/WA/NT starts the 23rd. All he did was make it clearer even though most people should understand.

        • +11

@Savas: I think you may have missed the point here.

          1. Originally the deal included only "QLD/WA/NT" so tuzii asks why NSW is not included.

          2. oscinator edits the deal to include details for NSW and other states.

          3. Seconds after posting the edit, oscinator then replies to tuzii with "Why do you think that?"

oscinator already knows the damn answer so why pretend like they don't?

What they should have said was "Great question, deal updated with details for other states." instead of pretending like it was there all along.

        • -1

@kamoi: I see that my expression seemed that way in what I wrote. I know you will probably disagree but I was intending to check that after i edited the deal that he still didnt have confusion.

        • -2

@kamoi:@kamoi : what you have to say is very condescending towards oscinator1988 . play nice and DO NOT assume anything . you sound like my very old principle i use to have in my school days .

$15.95 for 24 nuggets, large chips and bottle of Pepsi seems like a pretty decent meal.

Whilst this is in my opinion good value for what it is, what it isn't is anything even close to resembling nutrition !!

      • +1

Yeah, I eat KFC for the Nutritional values it provides to my clean eating plan…….not.

    • Just went in to buy 24 nuggets at Westfield Geelong KFC and was told I could not change my sauce selection. I wanted four sweet and sour. Is this new?

I ended up walking away as I did not like the other sauces.

lol Maccas and KFC having a Nugget war

      Hungry Jacks: hold my beer

      • +3

More like hold my hair while I lose my beer. Have you ever had a hungry jacks nugget?

        • +1

To be fair, their new nuggets are a lot better. Still not on kfc's level but they are edible now.

  • +9

Maccas comes with 1 less sauce.
    No more sweet mustard!
Sweet n sour. Bbq doesnt cut it…

Kfc smokey bbq sauce is ok.

Nando perinaise goes pretty good with either. I add a bit extra heat with mixinh some siracha into the mayo

2large sides for $6 is great.
"Fresh nuggets plz. Fresh chips too with extra chicken salt."

Tip for KFC chips: watch out for the kfc staff that squeeze the bottom of the box to only fill the top half only. They close the sides to ensure chips are sticking out. When opened…chips fall into the box and is essentially only half filled (half empty)

I personally don't say anything until my chips arrive in hand… open the box, tap the chips down… then ask for extra salt and a for the chips to be topped up. (Yet to be refused)

    • +2

Bloody sneaky they are… I caught one of them doing that before I just told them ordered a large not regular.

    • Please you can get Aioli in Maccas now. Sweet Mustard sacrifice worth.

      • Ill try
        1x mac sauce
        1x aioli
1x Mayo from mcchiken n not that satchel one

  • +5

KFC do have the best nuggets.

    • Out of the fast food outlets. Real chicken nuggets are made with 100% chicken

        this turns out quite nice

a few chicken thigh fillets goes well

      • +4

Real chicken nuggets? Lol. That's like saying that Haviana thongs are real shoes.

        • -3

No, it's not. You seem to like eating peasant food and food filled with preservatives.

Try some chicken nuggets from restaurants made by a chef or make it yourself. Maccas nuggets are disgusting.

        • +12

          @fredz:

          Maccas nuggets are disgusting.

There's always one of you in these threads. Stay in your own lane, go enjoy your homemade nuggets, and let people enjoy what they enjoy. No matter how much you try to pass it off as one, your opinion isn't a fact. If you don't like fast food, don't comment on bargains for them. Not that hard.

        • +6

@fredz: As if you would go to a restaurant and order chicken nuggets. Peasant food indeed.

        • +3

          @thorton82:
Exactly what I was thinking lol. And what kind of a self-respecting chef would have CHICKEN NUGGETS on their menu.

        • @phxsun: Not really wanting to jump into the argument but kid menus will often have them…

        • -2

@ProspectiveDarkness: There's always one, trying to play judge over what other people can post.

Most reasonable people would know that someone who says, "Maccas nuggets are disgusting" is offering a personal opinion and not a scientifically rigorous analysis vis a vis taste, texture, smell, regret and self-loathing that may come from eating them.

If you disagree, say so and preferably explain why. For myself, I prefer other nuggets over McDonald's because I find them too dry for my liking.

        • +2

@Daabido: FYI, trying to flip my criticism around on me comes across as petty and contrived rather than intelligent. Context matters. If some idiot is going to trumpet up and down a fast food thread about how he doesn't like fast food, then yeah, I'm going to criticise. Because it adds nothing to the conversation, it's condescending, and it's just plain annoying.

He called it 'peasant food' and other users "typical lazy fast food junkie" for crying out loud, and presumes to tell people what to do, rather than suggest. That doesn't smack of subjectivity to me.

And no, I don't have to explain and defend why I like fast food nuggets. Because, once again, people are allowed to like what they like without being shouted at that they're wrong. Jesus christ, this is not a hard concept.

        • @Daabido: I see what you're saying. It's fine to offer an opinion on your preferences and the way you went about it in your last sentence was fine and possibly constructive. However, once someone starts attacking another's preferences, the conversation just devolves and becomes destructive.

        • -2

@ProspectiveDarkness: Don't cry princess, you win the prize for petty calling people "idiots". Also you arguments are all over the place, hardly what I would call an intelligent response. But never mind, keep leading with your glass jaw.

      • +1

By definition it isn't a chicken nugget if it's 100% chicken it's just a lump of chicken.

        • I'm not talking about the coating. When I say 100% chicken, I am obviously talking about what is inside.

        • +2

Chicken lips, beaks and assholes is what's inside. One could argue that is chicken but….

        • @Local: You need to watch the YouTube documentary on chicken nuggets, it's so much worse than what you think. Still deliscous.

        • @thorton82: Which of the 32,000 youtube videos do you want me to watch??

          https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=how+chicken+nug…

        • @Local: The one where on one end of the conveyer belt you have millions of chicklets being separated between female and male, deformed, diseased and stillborn, the big meat grinder in the middle mincing the unlucky millions alive and the chicken nuggets at the end.

  • +3

OP… is it standard practice to fill large chips half way only?
Can you shed some light on how you are trained to fill up chips?

    • Tell me about it!!

    • +6

Honestly Trained to half squeeze the bototm of the chip box when filling them up, they are meant to be filled by weight not volume, and we are told that is how we get the weight we need

      • +3

What is the weight for a large chips?

(Doesnt really matter though… manager hasn't ever refused to top mine up.)

      • +4

Why not have a box that's the correct size for the weight?

        • The box is the correct size for the weight when the chips are fresh out of the fryer. However beetween 4-10 minutes in the warmer (we chuck out chips after 10 minutes) They go soggy and allow you to pack far too many in the box.

      • *, and we are told that is how we get the weight we need*

if we eat this fast food, we often end up with the weight we deserve

    • +15

Buy chickens and get them to lay 100% real eggs instead of buying the eggs in cartons from the shop.

Don't let Jamie Oliver see this post. He'll go nuts. He's anti nuggets.

    • +4

Really? I thought he just spouted whatever the highest paying person wanted him to.

      • He has a net worth of $400 million. "Crazy I know" He's very selective of what he vlogs.

        • Didn't his restaurant chain go bankrupt?

        • He's very selective of what he vlogs.

Only what ever makes him the most money.

    • Why? Is he anti nuggets you buy in the supermarket? Or from KFC?

      • +1

I watched an episode he was lecturing primary school kids on the evils of chicken nuggets. Kind of pissed me off. Let kids be kids.

    • +3

      I've just become anti-Jamie Oliver.

      • I've always hated the self-righteous little nonce.

I can't believe with all his millions he can't afford a bit of speech therapy…

        • +2

I thought he spoke english proper.

          On another note….

        • @StewBalls:

Jk. Only a joke re his english.

HouseMD dude does an awesome USA accent over his true pommy voice.

        • @chinezejew: Yeah, Huge Lorry is a very talented actor, his American accent is spot on.

The speechies I work with laugh about Oliver all the time, they tell me his lisp could be corrected with embarrassing ease…he's got no excuse!

        • @StewBalls:

Rags to riches maybe? Keep true to his roots?

        • @chinezejew: My money is on stingy… ;)

        • @chinezejew: Nah, I don't watch TV sports…occasional UFC or Boxing, but very infrequent.

I'm meant to be prepping for work tomorrow…harrassing you here is my avoidance behaviour! ;)

You can get 30 nuggets + 2 large sides for 15 bucks via the (rather crap) KFC xpress app. Also known as the Nugget party pack.
