SWISS Airlines Round The World Fare Economy Fares from $1763 Inc Taxes @ Roundabout Travel

740

New Sale – Book by 28th February – From $1763 Including Taxes

As mentioned here by wiz187 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/4395270/redir you can get a basic price from these guys and then take into your local Flight Centre for price match if you wish to physically speak to a human

After the last RTW fare from Finair sold out quite quickly, it seems Roundabout Travel have released some more fares with Swiss Airlines. These ones are a little more expensive than the previous, however you are not forced to travel through San Francisco to get the cheapest fare!

Austrian Airlines are having a similar sale for slightly cheaper, however the routing and departure cities were more restrictive. If you would like to check that one out also, you can find it here https://www.roundabouttravel.com.au/deals/austrian-rtw-airfa…

All airfares include taxes, luggage, food and drinks (including alcohol)

Either give them a call on 1300 318 227 to price the fare, or head to https://www.roundabouttravel.com.au/airfare-deals/price-my-a… - you can even use their RTW trip planner tool to piece together your trip if you wish. Following the below routing guidelines, once you have your perfect itinerary, you can then give them a call or an email which will save time for them to get it organised for you! The tool can be found here http://www.roundabouttravel.com.au/plan-my-trip/

No need for a personal attack, I'm guessing you have no clue as to how much this normally costs then?

        • +1

No personal attack mate, it's just common sense.
Check how many have negged your comment.

How many times you commented on posts with no meaning?
It's time for you to introspect before you reply for this comment.

It's very easy to comment on every post though it's required or not, but that's not what OzBargain is for.

          No personal attack mate

Off topic, not related to the deal, telling people not to post….

possibly more trolling than personal attack I guess….

        • @syamcvaa2:

          posts with no meaning?

What exactly is too hard for you to understand about my question ?

@jv: If you feel you have all rights to comment what you want, then same with me too.

@jv: Mate, I'm not talking about English Grammar like you. Your comment should be relevant to the post. How many times, you posted unrelated comments like links to Youtube videos, jokes which were not relevant. Check your comment history how many times your comments were marked Illegal/Off-Topic/Invalid etc.

Not to attack other users and take the conversation off-topic.

          Stick to discussing the deal…

        • @syamcvaa2:

Let's leave it there thanks, this has nothing to do with the deal.

  • CHEAP CHEAP!

  • My son has very long legs, would this end up a gift from hell due to economy seating limitations?

    • I'm 198cm or 6'6" in the old money and while travelling can be extremely uncomfortable, it has always been worth it!

      Huge gift though!

    • +14

My legs are shorter, gift the trip to me instead.

      • +5

He lives at home, him going on holidays for a few months would be a gift for me.

    • +5

Let him travel on foot then

    • I'm 185cm (6'1") and feel like I'm on the edge of being comfortable in a normal economy seat. If I were even 5cm taller I think it would become difficult to fit in the seat

      • He is 6'2"and growing still.

        • He'll just be ok. It helps to be young too

    • +2

No idea why some decided to neg your comment, I think it's an awesome gift and it was a genuine concern. He can always pay a little more for the emergency exit seats by choosing his seats but do bear in mind that bassinets are always in the centre row next to emergency exits so can be quite a noisy journey.

      • thanks

  • +6

Never been a better generation to travel.

I remember doing a similar trip in 2004. $4000 in economy round the world!

    • +2

but was it cheap eating out at the destinations you went ?

    • It Cost me $1800 in 1989.
But I did get to go, Australia – Thailand - India – Europe – North America – Australia

      • -1

It Cost me $1800 in 1989.

airfares are a lot cheaper now than back then, so maybe this isn't that good a deal?

        • +2

Wouldn't that be like 3.5k in today's money?

        • +3

          @Jolakot:

Airfares, based on the time value of money, are very much cheaper now than 2-3 decades ago.

  • +7

I found these guys painful to deal with
I sent them an email to grab the last deal
They would email me back with a much higher price.
This went back and forth for a while and didnt get anywhere near the price they quoted in their email.
    I was being super flexible.
They need a online booking system, the back and forth emails was just not working.

    • Was this the one which you had to go through San Fran, or a different deal?

      • +5

why dont they let u just do ur own destinations online, instead of having to deal with a human. from $1800* can mean price could be $10,000 if u want it to be. need better infrastructure in place if they want to truly better manage their customers.

    • +4

I just got basic figures from them after the last deal posted by "dazzywazzy" ( https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/269571 ) & went into my local flightcenter and bought from them.

      • That sounds like a great plan if they're aren't willing to be helpful!

  • +1

Its a pity there doesn't seem to be an online way of searching for round the world tickets for your route without manually getting prices from travel agents.

  • These prices aren't that abnormal.
If you head into any flight centre / Phil Hoffman / … And ask for a Lufthansa, Swiss Air, FinAir, or (I think) Etihad Round The World fare - you should get 7 destinations for under $2100. And 5 destinations for $1700ish.

The old $8-10k for a RTW fare are with the big brand OneWorld (Qantas) or Star Alliance (the biggest) and so on.
Your travel agent should be across these. And as long as you are flexible, you can save loads.
Of course fare conditions apply, this is where flexibility is a must.
