  • Great deal. Would have considered this if my Hoover died.

thanks been waiting for this :)

Thanks OP, this will replace the Rowenta one I got a few years back… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/87705
Rowenta one has seen better days (I had to convert it to run on Ryobi one+ battery packs when the batteries crapped out). Had a good run out of it, hopefully this one will be even better. The free tefal frypan from that deal is still going really well though.

    • Hey just wondering how you did the Ryobi battery on the Rowenta?

Which Ryobi tool did you pry the "receiver" from? And just mount and wire directly to the back of the Rowenta?

      • +3

I use the $19 Ryobi one+ torch as the receiver. I have a couple of these torches that I have modded to bring out a pair of wires straight from the pack out to a hobby RC connector. Lots of uses, I've even use it via a 24V-12V converter to power our camping fridge. As for the rowenta, I just brought out the pair of wires from the dead internal battery, then cable tied my one+ torch onto the handle. Its ugly but its lasted a couple of years now. The one+ packs made that thing work better than new even though it had been used enough to kill its original pack.

    • Had the Rowenta - brilliant vac. Shame they stopped selling them. Lasted 5 years or so.

  • Damn Cashrewards not working.

  • looks like a dyson v8 for a person of limited means.

    • +6

That would be me then. Great!

    • And here we have the reason that plumbers retire wealthier than lawyers.

Vax Dynamo Power 2 In 1 Stick Vacuum for the same price if anyone interested.

    • +1

Is there any advantage with this model? I can see RRP is $149 ($50 cheaper than the VX51), it lasts for 45min instead of 22min… what are the cons? Is it less powerful? Less versatile?

      • Well the VX51 has a powered floor head which helps with pet hairs etc.

You can see it in this video… https://youtu.be/6Xo647SqjTI

        • +1

is this video trying to sell the vacuum or the wife?

        • @mrgeckoz: I'll take two!

      • +1

you can remove the stick so it becomes a handheld vacuum.
it comes with other attachments as well.
battery life is shorter mainly due to the motor head.

        • Ok thank you. I think those feature are preferable for me. Pulling the trigger!

        • @snapper: pleasure. i have a dyson dc54 for something like once every fortnight clean, but i do want something for day to day use…so i bought it!

        • @mrgeckoz: Same here - I have a Dyson DC14. I was trying to click&collect at numerous stores but just kept getting an error "items not available/listing expired" or some BS. Guess I left it too late.

        • @snapper: bad luck! this happens to all ozbargainers…

        • I believe both units can have the stick removed to become handheld

        • @whodidthat: That is the newer version with 25.2V battery VX42 the one linked by mrgeckoz is the VX41 with 21.6V RRP$149 http://www.vax.com.au/products/vacuum-cleaners/cordless-vacu…

        • @adr8: Oh, ok. I wasn't looking at the model numbers. Just showing the handheld bit as the listings on ebay don't show it.

        • @mrgeckoz: Yep, certainly not the first time it's happened to me either… procrastination is my way of saving lol

  • Can anyone pls advise is it better than the dyson v6.

    • +1

      For $99….nope

    • Less power than dyson, but it does the work.

      • It really sucks.

    • +2

Well they are both British companies and apparently the Dyson can be annoying with having to hold the trigger down?

      • +2

nope, i got the V6 and the trigger is feather light

        • Still annoying even if it's light IMO

        • @Jackson:
          If you say so

      • Even though I've never used a stick vacuum before, this seems more like a positive.

  • Are these actually any good?

    • Very good deal.

      • +2

No, I mean are they actually good vacuums?

        • +3

          They suck

        • You may check the comment from the previous user pc6673 from below to decide.

        • There's a heap of reviews saying they're great, for $99 it seems like a no brainer to me.

        • +1

          @the69thhokage: all vacuums suck

        • +1

@nagel: that was the joke lol

  • Thanks OP, bought one

  • Ordered one, thanks OP. Don't have a pet, but it's a good price and does the other stuff a vacuum does.

  • +2

Bought one half year ago at $120+. It can work roughly 20 minutes after every full charge . Considering the much lower price than dyson's product, it's a good machine doing its job.

    • Can you turn the power head off and get 40 min of charge?

  • Good deal .. ordered!

  • +2

    Thanks ordered 1.

Got an error during payment "Seller made changes to the listing"

No idea what changes. Clicked 'Pay now' for the second time and it went through fine.

  • Thanks OP, ordered!

  • Thanks OP, ordered one for c&c!

  • Thanks

  • Listing has changed to In store pickup only, postage no longer available.

    • Okay thanks I have updated the post. I wonder if their warehouse sold out?

  • Was gonna bite, but I'll spend the extra for the Dyson V6. Got pretty bad sinus issues in this house so a hepa filter is compulsory for us.
Still good post, thanks regardless op.

    • +4

only V6 Absolute model equipped with HEPA.

any other variants just blows whatever it sucks.

Cheapest 'Absolute' during sales is around $430

      • +3

Thanks. Yep, it was the 'absolute' I was looking at.

Now to think of it, I'll grab this and put the difference towards importing a ~$300 air purifier from China :).

    • Nasonex spray is a better deal if you want to treat your sinuses.

      • lol I'm already on a nasonex prescription.
Better to treat the cause than the symptoms though.

Getting rid of indoor free floating formaldehyde (probable carcinogen) is a bonus too, you know.

  • this is one of the best bargains we have had on here, perfect timing!

  • thanks OP

  • tried to buy, wont let me

  • +1

It's selling out pretty quickly - I've tried to buy from two stores (6km and 13km away) and in both cases got all the way to trying to confirm the purchase which fails with an error. The error indicates no stock available (and the listing doesn't seem to allow for postage either, pickup only).

    So it definitely seems popular..

  • +2

Was trying to checkout and failed - tried over 6 times. Probably a sign to get the v6 absolute

    • +2

      Nah, it wasn't

  • +1

"Up to 22 minutes of long lasting performance"…hmm, if i didnt know this was a vacume cleaner, i may have assumed something else

    • LOL

  • was hesitate…missed out :(

  • can anyone confirm if this comes with wall mount for charging?

  • Blinked and missed, sad panda :((((((

  • +2

$119 on their website with Click 'n' Collect available at every store near me and also available for free delivery. Granted $99 was nicer but still decent price at $119 given HN only dropped these by $10 to $189 (price match?) - was just about to buy one at $189 - thank God for OzBargain.

    • Yes $119 with free delivery is still a good deal.

Good Guys does have a price guarantee which should bring it down to $105.

      https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/pay-less

      • $105? please explain

        • +1

Click the link and read the T&Cs of their price beat guarantee. They are offering to pay 120% of the difference.

          $189 - $119 = $70
          70 * 1.2 = $84
          $189 - $84 = $105

Probably just go into a Good Guys store and show them the Target Catalogue and ask them to beat the price at $105 up front… https://d3i63g6yqk8ui8.cloudfront.net/imageicon/trg/prod/j00…

If it works then maybe you can post a new deal for this vacuum at $105.

Actually reading that catalogue carefully it looks like Target made an error and mixed up the prices of the two stick models. That's really good of Target to honour the price error though.

    • yes, thanks, but i was unable to use the promo code "SPENDSAVE20" as stated on their home page for discount :(

      • That code is for clothing and homewares, not electronics.

        • :'(

        • @hopper: $105 from Good Guys is a decent price though, definitely worth a try and I don't see why it wouldn't work.

        • @inherentchoice: Tried it. They didn't go for it.
Quoted them from the site but they had difficulty comprehending it. Final statement was to buy it at $189, then go online and lodge the claim. THat would bring it down to $105. But Target is right outside work vs driving and all that for the extra $15. Guess I will just go with Target this time around with my 1.5% cashback.

        • @lordra: Ah for calling themselves the "good guys" that doesn't sound very helpful of them.

What is PAY LESS, PAY LESS?

PAY LESS, PAY LESS refers to The Good Guys PAY LESS PROMISES. With these promises you can trust you’re getting the best price because you’ll PAY LESS before you buy and PAY LESS after you buy from The Good Guys.

Yet somehow based on your experience they turned "pay less" into pay more. :o

        • their price beat only for listed store. Please check whether Target is on their list. painful deal with them for price beat

        • @inherentchoice: EXACTLY. So Paul from the store in Kotara, Newcastle, said that they would price match and get it to $119. So pointed out that the website says they would beat the price. So then he says, sure, $118.
          From the site :
"How does WE’LL BEAT IT work?

If one of our competitors* has an advertised price for an identical product, just show us the advertisement in print or on your phone at any The Good Guys store. We’ll check that the price is current and that the item is in stock and then we’ll beat their advertised price!"

          Source

I point out that I will get it for much less if I do the 30 day price match to which he says, 'go do that then'. He did not confirm or deny if Target was on the list but they did agree to match it so I suppose that it is still on the list.

Is this worth it for the $$? Just in the market for something that I can use for my car too. Cordless as its communal parking and there are no power points in the parking lot.

        • @maxall: Target is definitely on the list of competitors Good Guys will price beat. Just click to expand the full T&Cs.

Back in stock after the coupon runs out, good work target

  • +1

    Got mine…..very happy customer :)

    • Any idea how it compares to Dyson? Thanks

      • suction no where near as good as dyson, but good enough for things like food crumbs
based on my experience with dc45.

        • According to Dyson(as in specs for both the Vax and V6 coming from Dyson), it's about 25% less powerful than the V6 on normal. 21 air watts vs 28. Of course, on max, the Vax gets obliterated.

        • Thanks

  • +1

wonder if we can fit third party heads on this, ie for hard floors?

  • You guys, its out of stock now and back to $119…
