First time posting so excuse any mistakes, currently Mi5 is lowest it's been since November last year. Lowest price I can currently find, below $300 considering that some stores are retailing for around $450+ This is also global ROM so you're saved the hassle of rooting it and flashing the ROM. Recommend going with DHL shipping for $16 extra, only 3-5 business days. Just ordered one for myself and I'm hoping for the best since it's definitely the best around it's price (considering it's a flagship), specs a lot better than competitors i.e moto g4 etc. NFC, Snap 820, solid camera, definitely a cheaper equivalent of S7. As for geek buying, all I've had is good experiences from them so I hope this is another one.

P.S someone reminded me, don't forget cashrewards (3.20% cash back).

EDIT: Seems like they don't want to be lowest price anymore, soon after deal was posted jumped from $297 AUD to $310, thanks geek buying…

I use the global MIUI rom with a custom Launcher and an android N theme.
Still has the MIUI apps on it but some of them are useful.

      • did you flash the rom or did it come stock?

        • I got the Global Rom from Dreami on Aliexpress, during the last deal

You will be lucky if you purchase from geekBuying will be ACTUALLY delivered.Paid for my order 3 months ago. No item ,no money, no refund.

    • So just do a chargeback. Simple enough.

      • It was credit card issued by australian post (load and go card)

        • You have my condolences..

        • @Vladdo:
They should be banned from here.

        • @tapuz: As I said in the other post. You should have told me that it had not arrived so a refund can be done. How am I supposed to know if it has arrived or not?

3 months I'm still waiting LOL.

But geek are good if you expect 4-5 week delivery …. use them for lost of stuff when I'm not in a hurry and asking the postie in the mornings "anything for me today" …. I'm more "ooh what is this in the mail box … what have I bought and hasn't arrived"

I have provided to you that both the shopping cart and the checkout advertise an estimate of up to 40 business days for free unregistered shipping before the order is confirmed. GeekBuying's own shipping page says that shipping times are an estimate. I emphasise that this is an estimate as there are a lot of factors into why a package can be delayed. Build up from Singles' Day, lead up to Christmas, clearing customs and Auspost's slow delivery are a few examples.

After GeekBuying staff return on the 3rd of February a refund can be issued if the package has not arrived.

    Still waiting for refund……

As per the site below, geekbuying is on the 'not to buy list.

  • Am I correct the only band 28 phone that supports dual SIM 4G+3G is Motorola G4 plus? No Xiaomi will do the job?

    • most people are saying band 28 isn't that important for most, so xiaomi will do the job if you're not that worried

      • This Mi5 second SIM slot is together with SDCard slot so one or the other like RedMi Note 3 etc. I believe.

If you use Aldi SIM or any Telstra MNVO that doesn't have 4GX then its ok. Not sure about Woolworths mobile though

        • Aldi has Band 28, just not at all the same towers as Telstra plans. Check the coverage maps.

  • Have had my mi5 since not long after launch.
Great phone, but you really notice the lack of b28 when you leave metro areas on Optus.

Other than that, I can't wait to get another xiaomi :)

  • -edit DBL post

    • Feels bad man when you buy the phone and they say it's on the do not buy list… Fml. Guess I'll just wait and hope

Update: I ordered a Mi5 on 7th February, as of the 20th, it still hasn't shipped, so I used to live chat to cancel it. Very rude CSR and they're now on my Do Not Buy list.

Time to hit up the Dreami store.

    • Dreami sent me a redmi note 4 with modded rom… So I had to flash it. not saying others won't but just so you know.

      • I bought a Mi5 from Dreami in late december.. showed it to a friend who wanted one too.. Bought another mi5 from dreami last tuesday and received it yesterday, no probs..

        • Check your miui version. Mine was 8.0.0.1 and my notification light wouldn't turn off.

Not sure why but flashing back to 8.0.0.0 fix it.
