    I am travelling to Germany in early march and just wanted to make sure that I can activate this sim card in Frankfurt and not just in the UK.

  • Usually I just grab a pre-paid SIM in whatever country I am in, but my upcoming trip is the first many-countries trip I have done.

    This SIM is £20 on the three UK website - around $34 or $35. So factoring in postage, around the same price as the deal. What is the advantage of getting the SIM before leaving Oz as opposed to picking one up on my first day in London? Seems picking one up in London I will have the opportunity to ask all my dumb questions in person.

    I've also sent two messages to your contact you webform and your whatsapp number is incorrect.

    Hopefully you aren't just offloading a massive bunch of sim cards to Ozbargainers that end up being unusable.

    • That's what PayPal or charge backs are for, not pre emptively complaining on ozbargain.

      The rep has been nice so far, give them a chance to reply and correct the contact details?

      • Paypal and charge backs are a fallback and shouldn't be the primary safeguard.

        The rep actually hasn't been responding to comments even though he has been back on the site - so it is hardly pre-emptive.

        I have tried to contact them via multiple channels without any response, kindly suggest what other recourse I have at this stage?

  • I did some research and some people said that while using the 3 UK Feel at Home plan overseas (not in UK) the data speed was dramatically throttled.

    Can anyone here that has used this sim before share their experience with data speeds?

      Some people are saying speeds are only good enough for Facebook and email. Video and music streaming are out. Others are saying speeds are fine.

      • As long as I can instant message people - what more are we expecting for this price? :)

        (Any alternatives which cover travel through 3-4 Western European Countries?)

        • Don't know. Just giving a heads up to people who are planning/expecting to use this as their primary internet while travelling. They may want have a back up plan just in case.

          12gb is a fair bit of mobile data so people may be expecting to do more than just instant message and facebook.

  • Does anyone know whether these come with the content block removed? If not, how would I go about having it removed when in the UK? I've read that the content block is rather heavy handed and so want to minimise any possible issues that may arise when roaming.

    • Not sure if these have the content lock disabled. But Dr. Google suggests;

      The usual way to disable the content lock is to enter credit card data to prove your age; but this only works with UK-issued credit cards, and as a tourist you probably won't have one of those. Therefore when you buy a new SIM card in store insist that the lock will be removed right away (what takes one minute). For this you may need to provide some form of ID to prove your age, if you look young.

  • received an empty envelope from them. looks like it got a bit shredded via auspost as it was received inside a plastic bag from aus post advising it had been damaged due to the sorting equipment.

    contacted customer support and got a quick response.

    2 days later am still in limbo as to what they'll do about not receiving the SIM cards.

    It's been over a week now since I've ordered the sim and still doesn't appear to have been dispatched. My order still remains "confirmed" but I haven't received any emails regarding the shipping. Could you please provide me with an update on the delay?

        • Agree. Haven't received mine either despite it being over the quoted 3-5 business days for shipping. Their WhatsApp live support number also doesn't work (does not show up in WhatsApp contact list even after adding to address book) and calling it causes the call to be redirected to a voicemail inbox that is full.

          Looking through their other recent promotions posted on OzB, it seems there were a bunch of dud Bali SIMs sold at the end of Nov, and more recently, it appears possible that some people still have not received their SIMs from a recent NZ SIM deal from 1 Feb 2017.

          I'll give it another few days, but I am starting to have some doubts about this deal and company in general… :s

          If it is indeed a genuine deal, then at the very least their communication has been pretty poor so far…

          I bought some SIM's on their NZ deal from 1st Feb and still haven't received it
          They did reply once saying "order has been sent and has arrived at the travel destination" but when I replied querying when it was sent and supposedly received, they have not responded.

          I've given up on the chance they'll arrive now and raised a Paypal dispute on the Thursday morning 16/2
          …. and still no response

    • I received a shipment notification this evening too. I'm still slightly skeptical, but I'll give it till the end of the week to see if it turns up. Maybe they just didn't anticipate being OzBargained? In any case, I hope it comes good!

  • I bought this sim card on 10/2/17 and still havent received it yet. I only got an email saying it gas been despatched yesterday. I'm flying out tomorrow

    To make me even more skeptical is that I tried to email you but the email bounced.

    What's going on? I feel like I wasted my money since I have no use for sim card if it gets here after tomorrow. Guys it's always safer just to buy sim card when you get there!! never doing this again. not worth the stress.

  • Ahh.. Looks kinda fishy. I too haven't got any responses to multiple emails, and Facebook msgs.. Ordered the 10 Th aswell ….The website is down now, showing a dns error.. Pay Pal dispute time :(

    • Yeah, something seems up with their website at the moment. It seems to be working intermittently for me, sometimes it'll load, sometimes it won't.

    Mine finally showed up after 3 weeks
    Ordered 1/2 and arrived 21/2

    Via standard post - looks like it's Auspost holding it up as there's a date of 2/2 stamped on it
    3 weeks from Sydney to Melb - no wonder AusPost CEO is getting the big bucks

  • For anyone who's interested, mine arrived today too via priority post. Ordered 12/01, dispatch email received 20/01, shipment received 22/02.

    Given the quoted 3-5 business days shipping, the non-functional 'live' support WhatsApp number and the lack of replies to emails mentioned by others etc, there could definitely be some improvements in shipment time and communication.

    To be honest, it's poor form for the rep to not have followed up and engaged on here too. Even just a general "Sorry, we've been swamped with orders, but we're working as hard as we can to get your orders out" would have been welcome and probably would have avoided some unnecessary PayPal disputes etc.

    In the end, I'm glad my order eventually came through, although I was in a better position than some as I'm not travelling for a little while. Overall, it's probably best to be mindful that processing/shipping may be slow, and that it may be a potential issue if you are travelling soon and need the SIMs quickly.

    If you are landing in Heathrow , the vending machines are just next to the baggage claim area. You can buy one there.

    Outside of the UK I'd recommend that link. I'll email the seller and double check if you can activate outside the UK.

      • Hmmm good question not sure. I think it's credit card enabled. There are certainly ATMs around if not.

      I've just activated mine and it works fine. You do have to remember to enable roaming on your phone for it to work outside of the UK. I know it's a bit late, but hope it helps.
