PRORASOLAUNCH

Shave Rave is back for the New Year, we hope you all had a great break!

A lot has changed over at Shave Rave, we are slowly introducing some exciting new brands and today represents the launch of out lastest addition.

Proraso is probably the most recognised brand in mens shaving across the world. For good reason! It's affordable, works well and delivers consistent results.

Really pleased to have this a part of the store.

Simply input the code at the checkout and you'll get 10% off, our prices are already price matched to our main local competitors. If you have any questions, I'll be sitting in the comments as usual!

Also don't forget that we offer an excellent rewards program for our repeat customers, you can earn discounts as you go, all you need is an account! (You don't need an account to participate in the deal, only if you want to!)

Simply click the 'Earn Rewards" Tab down the bottom right of the page, and you can earn points every time you buy. Simple things like buying hair product or shaving cream will result in you earning 5, 10 even $20 discounts so it's well worth it.

Regards,

Alex

you dont have Baxter of California, you wont get my business.

    • Actually it has been photographed. Should be up by March!

I find shaving soap to be massively overrated. Bought some Nivea cream instead which lathers much easier and nicer.

Ended up just throwing my Proraso stuff out.

But! This is probably also due to user error on my behalf because I also can't get into the classic razors no matter how much I try. Other than the manliness and coolness factor, disposables seem to work heaps better for my skin.

Really does come down to the individual at the end of the day. Some people will never get these razors no matter what. And that's cool. We're all entitled. Safety's do take a bit of learning. But once you've got them down pat, they're pretty awesome and save you a mint in cash.

I actually prefer shaving cream myself. But things like Nivea have some pretty nasty stuff in them, which doesn't bother a lot of people. But I prefer knowing my products aren't harming my skin or the environment as badly as mass produced brands. Again, it's a personal preference.

I started this business pretty much because I have the most pathetic sensitive skin you could imagine. These products don't irritate me and neither do the razors. It was the only way I could get things done without problems. So I swear by them, believe in them whole heartedly and I know there is a massive pool of people who find this improves their shave, skin etc.

I often recommend people to buy disposables when I feel they don't understand what's involved. Also when they say they are bald and shave their heads… nothing beats a disposable for a blind shave behind the head.

Thanks for the info. Super helpful as always!

    • opposite for me, I get a far better shave with a DE razor as opposed to disposable cartridges.

you should try something from Taylor of Old Bond Street, you get an excellent smooth lather, I've never liked Proraso either.

as for using a DE razor its often a case of finding the right blade, its amazing the difference it can make. Some hack my face up, but some glide beautifully. Astra or Feather would be my two recommendations there. It's also a matter of technique, you have to get your angle of attack right, and consistent.

      • Cool I'll try. Need to make use of my Muhle!

  • Are you not planning on stocking the Proraso after shave balm? I'm struggling to get to the $35 free post mark. Could always by 3 shaving creams I guess, but that's a lot of future supply for me. One of your competitors does free post over $20.

    • Will eventually. Said competitor also has retail or above prices. All my prices are below retail. So that's the trade off. Buy more and save big ba buy little and pay top dollar

  • I am not taking away from local sellers but this is Ozbargain so in the spirit of the site………I ended up having a bit of a look around and found that you could get a 500ml bladder of Proraso cream delivered from the UK for $25.86 from https://www.fruugoaustralia.com/proraso-new-shaving-cream-bl…

The end seller for that is Maguires Barber Shop in Newcastle - http://www.maguiresbarbershop.co.uk/proraso-new-shaving-crea…

Doesn't come in a nice tube but does appear to be the same in terms of Eucalyptus and Menthol shaving cream.

Not the same product. From memory contains coconut oil and more glycerin. Designed to soften skin more

      • Which potentially is no bad thing, softer skin we all strive for. Don't we.

Either way, it's an alternative in case others would like to try. I have ordered one to give it a try.

Difficult to qualify the statement as well as Proraso don't appear to list the full ingredients of their products on their website to be able to compare apples with apples.

        • To be perfectly honest. Most vendors don't seem to know the difference. Some copy an past OEM text from the standard menthol onto it.

But there is a subtle difference. Smells a bit different too. But they both smell strongly of menthol.
