Cheapest price the Non "Black" edition has been on Amazon (14% off the List Price). I'm trying not to post deals on the 1070 until they go sub-$500 but this is the best I've seen on the regular version of the SC 1070. What do you get for your extra $11? … A backplate. I know that matters to some people who might not have gone for the SC Black Edition.

  • +1 from me, EVGA warranty is probably best in the business.
and for this price you cant go wrong.

    • Totally agree, I don't even consider overseas prices unless they're from EVGA. :)

  • I have this exact card, very happy with it. For this price its a steal.

  • If you get one - make sure you have the updated VBIOS ( http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/evga-gtx-1080-1070-ov… ).

    • i would assume these would have the thermal pads and Vbios upgraded already

      • +1

Yeah, for this long after the issue and fix, you would hope so. Doesn't hurt to check though!

        • Better safe than sorry!

  • +2

    I don't need it , i don't need it, i don't need it, i don't need it

    • Don't need it, but boy do I want one! Will hang out for a while longer and keep watching these great deals.

      • I really want 1 tho, but im gonna wait for vega and ryzen

  • How many Power Phase on this model, 10 +2?

    • 4+1

You need the FTW edition to get 10+2.

$409.89 USD + Shipping = AUD 580.42 using Amazon currency converter. Good deal for that card.

      • -1

Well that settles it, I'm not coughing up $544.42 to buy the 'For the Loss Edition'.

  • Whatever happened with the new updated ICX coolers?

  • The black one is $8 USD cheaper, wouldn't you get that instead? it's like $515.78 with a fee-free card $533.16 using amazon conversion…
edit: or is that what you mean about the back plate

    • Correct, as per the original post… "What do you get for your extra $11? … A backplate(evga.com). I know that matters to some people who might not have gone for the SC Black Edition."

      • I am super happy with the EVGA hybrid I got for about $580 aud from amazon

  • Does this also come with free game? Ghost Recon: Wildlands would be a pretty sweet bonus

  • I have this card, I got it with the gears 4 deal from Amazon in late September for around $560. Definitely a great deal, and an incredible card for the money. If you are worried about buying from Amazon or international shipping etc etc. I'll say this, my Amazon order arrived quicker from the U.S, than my Ebgames order from QLD. Neither were express shipped btw.

Very tempting, but I think i might wait for the AMD Vega cards to come out. Even if there equivalent is not as good, hopefully the competition may cause the green team to to be more competitive with there pricing.

    • This is where I'm at too. Won't stop me price checking or posting deals for others though! :)

      • Completely agree. If i see a cracking good deal now i may bite

        • +3

Sub $500AUD for a 1070 is my "give serious consideration" price point.

  • Just about to buy parts for my first build and was going to get the MSI GTX 1070 from this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/291175. Will there be much difference in performance between this card and the MSI? I'm already seriously overbudget so if I can save a few dollars somewhere I'm all for it!

    • The MSI Gaming X has the following clocks:
      Boost Clock / Base Clock
      1797 MHz / 1607 MHz (OC Mode)
      1771 MHz / 1582 MHz (Gaming Mode)
      1683 MHz / 1506 MHz (Silent Mode)

      The EVGA here is…
      Boost 1784 MHz / Base 1594

So it'll run a little faster than Gaming Mode, a little slower than OC Mode.

No need to worry about global warranty since the MSI is from Australia, so yeah they're pretty comparable I'd say.

      • Cheers man

        • +1

No worries, good luck with your build!

  • bonus game?

      • < only computer alliance advertised bonus game atm

Just asked Nvidia support and apparently amazon is not participating in the promotion

Update: Just talked to amazon.com support (not .ca) and they said "The card will be emailed directly from the manufacturer two weeks after receiving the item"

  • Inner monologue: "I don't need it, you have to save money. You already have a 970"

*cut to black, title: 2 weeks later"

    Holding box: "Damn it"

    • This is where im at too. And my 970 was only about $370 new with free copy of the division. But I really do want this…….
