Little Creatures IPA - Was $81.99, Now $59.95 Per Case of 24 @ Dan Murphy's

920

Just grabbed a case at my local Dan's.
A ripper of an IPA AND $20 cheaper than usual, just in time for 45 degrees in Sydneys west tomorrow. Beware 6.5% alcohol, it has some kick.

Note: You must set your local store to see the price.

  • Is it short dated?

    • I doubt it, otherwise they wouldn't be selling single bottles and 4-packs full price.

      25th August 2017.
      Mine won't see Sunday night!!

  • Cheers to you OP, ordered.

I assume you can combine this with the Amex $10 back with $50 spend at Dan Murphy's for even cheaper delciousness!

    • thanks for the reminder… forgot about that…

  • +2

Good one for the Dan's amex offer if you saved it and haven't used.

    • Ordered with Amex, but forgot Cash Rewards! Oh no could have saved another $2

Hipsters will refuse to drink this now

Web 2.0! Imma let you finish, Taylor! Epic Fail!

Sorry, I just assumed we were listing things that people still said in 2009.

    • It's true :'(

    • +1

You think hipsters were buying beer from Lion/Kirin before this?

  • awesome deal

  • +6

That's a ridiculous original price for a local case of beer

    • That's what you pay for more alcohol in a premium aussie beer! If anything the $85 is a reasonable price already compared to some others.

    • +3

That's 8 goon bags for the price of one carton of beer!

I know which one I'd prefer.

      • +9

        Silver Pillows for all!

    • +2

Very ridiculous price for local beer. Even $60 is too much. It is a good beer though.

    • Definitely, I once lived in Europe where I could buy a case of beer for 8 euro or the good stuff for about double that

  • How's the IPA compared to the standard Pale Ale, for someone not overly familiar with IPAs?

    • +12

It's a lot more bitter (60 IBU vs 38ish?), but nowhere near the craft/US style IPAs that make you feel like you drunk a beer spiked with draino. It's got a bit of sweetness to it that makes it seem less bitter, I guess.

The flavour is great - they use a ton of Vic Secret which is one of the best hops around imho. It's less in your face than the beers loaded with Galaxy, but still has that really nice pine and tropical/passionfruit flavor and aroma.

If you enjoy a fruity metrosexual ale, you'll like it.

That said, I'm not paying seventy bucks for a case of it anytime soon.

      • Thanks! I'll have to try it.

    • +1

      MORE delicious!

    • Bitter and strong. Definitely harder to drink than the delicious pale ale.

  • +1

    My store is showing $61.95

    • Same for me.

  • Great deal! Wish first choice were still doing the $10 voucher… Price match - $10… Damn!

  • +1

Well I'm disappointed; I thought there was a cheap case of IsoPropoyl Alcohol.

  • My local Dan's also has the Little Creatures Pale Ale and Bright Ale down from $71.99 to 61.95… still a good deal compared to $78 at BWS.

  • Could not resist. Thanks OP

  • Price has dropped from $59.99 to $59.95, to undercut Vintage Cellars on:

Little Creatures Award Winning Original Pilsner $59.99 Vintage Cellars

  • +1

Good deal on a reasonable beer. Well spotted OP. Have an up-vote.

  • +1

    Price isn't nationwide.

    • Did you login? Without logging in it shows $81.99 for me, after logging into my account, I get $59.95.

      • Still $61.95 here.

      • Yes, it's not nationwide. I tested and SA is $61.95 while TAS is $81.99.

        • while TAS is $81.99.

They can drink Boags and Cascade.

@jv: Have you tried them before? No good.

        • -1

@Clear: BUT NOT AS BAD AS VB

  • Little Creatures Pale Ale and Bright Ale also on special for $59.99!

  • +2

After cashrewards and AMEX, this cost me $48. That's $2 per bottle!!! Will be a very good weekend.

    Thanks for posting.

    • +1

Me too… Thanks to the poster that reminded me to use the amex deal… Was almost expired.

  • Willoughby NSW doesn't have the discount. Logged in and the discount is gone. Pickup in 7 days. So maybe only for stores that have stock? Also tried Terrigal on the Central Coast. Same price.

    • I just clicked through again and they've adjusted the price back up. Glad I got in earlier!

  • $81.95 at point cook danmurphys in Victoria

  • +1

Pricing error I reckon - they probably only intended to change the Pilsner price to beat Vintage Cellars but accidentally changed the IPA price.

    • Sloppyjoe is probably right prices gone back to $81.99 at most stores now except one store as I'm typing this.

  • $81.99 at Brickworks Adelaide. Logged in…😣😣

    • Same :/

  • +1

They changed it back to $81.99 now as I was about to get it.

Saw them at $59.95 about an hour ago

  • Damn I tried changing the store because I was getting it posted but- "The price of some items in your cart has changed. The final price is based on the Dan Murphy's store closest to your delivery postcode."

Little Creatures India Pale Ale $81.99 was ($59.95)

  • Just ordered click and collect at Gladesville, NSW store at $59.99 (less $10 Amex credit, and more discount through Cash Rewards) Wasn't available at my new local Leichhardt store at the same price. Thanks for the heads up ;)

  • Just went up for me. Bummer.

  • price is back to $81 :(

  • +1

OP you are the damned greatest op of the last few weeks. My local DM had exactly 7x 4 packs left, and they were happy to put together a cartoon for me.

They were also amazed at the price.

    Awesome.

  • +2

just in time for 45 degrees in Sydneys west tomorrow.

I like an IPA as much (or more) than the next guy, but its not what I would call a refreshing choice when its ridiculously hot weather

    • +1

      Too heavy?

      • +1

Yeah, IPA is my favourite beer, but in this weather I'd prefer an ice cold pilsner

    • Got to 47 in Hay today, crazy.

      • +1

        Yeah crazy, Hay?

  • Hands up you dirty willoughby ozbargainers who got the last two cases from DMs! You beat me to it. However, I managed to get the remaining 12 for a slab price. Yay.

    In-store price is still 59.99.

    • You bought 12 bottles for the price of a slab?

      • +1

I was never good at maths…

  • Managed to grab one at $59.95 in store at Woolloongabba ( Brisbane).Thx

  • -5

60 is still too much for this

  • Does anyone know if you can walk in instore and get it at this price?

    • +1

Yes. I just did that at my local an hour ago. (Bundoora)
They had a few slabs on the floor- proper price labelled @ 59.

  • $82 is getting pretty expensive for beer isn't it.

    • Depends if you get more than $3.42 of utility from each bottle

  • +1

I wanna take this beer behind the toilets and get it pregnant. So yummy.

Also for anyone still seeing carton in store it still scans at 59.

  • Thanks OP, just picked up my cases I ordered online. They're some tasty beers.

  • Grabbed a carton and a bottle of Aberlour 12.

    Finished a beer…its nice…didnt realise it was 6.4% …wowzers

  • $3.42 a bottle at full price. Still tons better than bars extorting $6 for a schooner of VB.

  • Has this expired?

  • Fwiw I managed to get dm to price match leffe blonde for 61 bucks from ourcellars

    • Which DM store?
      Can you post a receipt?
Our Cellar does not have a shopfront which DM need within a radius to price match.
      Leffe is also $62.95 (+ $6.95 delivery).
Sounds too good to be true to get it from DM for $61, when it is $99.99 in store.

      • It was in Melbourne, Preston. just showed them the link. Got lucky I guess, they didn't include shipping.

  • +1

One of the only good deals for DM in a while and I was on a plane and couldnt do my hourly ozb check :/

    • and I was on a plane

Did you at least snooze ?
