Why don't you put $50 on top and get a ZenFone 3? Better specs + b28 and reputable maker. Who is Umi again?

      Who is Umi again?

Universal Mobile Intelligence (global spyware specialists)

    • $330 seems to be the market where you get 1080p and B28, eg moto G4 plus, and Android 7 ….we seem to be getting more options in Australia.

Sorry but where did you find ZF3 with B28 for $330?

I have had this phone now for about 3 weeks now. Love it. Does not have band 28 or NFC. I have never had band 28 so maybe I just do not know what I am missing out on. All I know is I get great reception with Telstra, and fast enough downloads everywhere I go. I have no issues getting reception inside buildings.

Build quality is fantastic. Feels very premium, although one of the side buttons feels ever so slightly loose. I do not even notice this any more.

The finger print sensor works about 90% of the time but overall pretty good. The display is very clear and bright. This thing is fast too. It has handled everything I can throw at it, and the battery life is the best I have seen on any phone. My usage would be average, and from 7am to 7pm I get to about 70% battery. Easily 2 days usage, and possibly 3 days light usage.

Malwarebytes did not find any malware. (I purchased from UMI's store through Ali Express during one of the 10% cashback sales) No bloatware either.

I paid $270 after cashback from Cashrewards. For the money, I really cannot fault it. If it lasts me a year it was money very well spent. If the only things I can fault are the loose side button and a lack of Band 28 and NFC, then it is well worth it in my opinion.

    • Thanks for this great review. I have mi max with no band 28 and going backwards from phones ive had that have, it's noticeable in speed and the poor reception I get indoors at work. That being said these China phones are pretty good for the price.

Why risk money on this third tier brand renowned for folling out new models every 6 months and dumping support for the old ones when you can buy far more reliable brands for the same/similar money eg the LeTV or Mi5 both posted today.

I just got the UMI Z, and it's seriously good. To quote a mate, who also got one: "This thing is as sexy AF."

    Highly recommended.
