40% off any item.. excludes these items …

Also, I believe you should bring this coupon that posted to you. They don't accept if the voucher is shown in mobile devices.
Remember that just one full priced item only. If you bring two items to the counter, second item will be marked at full price (realised from experience with them)

        So…phone isn't fine?

        • +2

You can present this voucher on your phone.

      • I've used these 40% vouchers on my phone in the past, no issues.

  • Can I just turn up and sign up on the spot? I registered for an online VIP account but I don't think that it is the same.

OK Just received my temporary card to my e-mail address. Thank you so much.

      • +1

Yes, fast and free to join in store. They will give you a VIP that can be used immediately, then you can register it online at home if you want to receive these benefits first-hand.

  • Where is the original coupon sourced from?

    • +1

      VIP club email, generic barcode

    • I have got one in the mailbox, noted that the barcode is different though.

      • I'm suspecting they are unique? Used a printed coupon once from Ozbargain and it would not scan. Staff had to put it through manually.

        • I have a couple of accounts, and both barcodes were the same

        • @undercut:
I wonder if it is barcode is tied to state or nearest store?

        • @fullmetal87: Possibly. I've got Vic accounts.

      • The barcodes aren't unique but I believe the email barcode and the physical mail barcode are different, doesn't differ from state to state. Both are valid.

  • You can register for VIP member just over their counter before paying for the item. Thats what I did the last time I made my purchase from them from Bondi, NSW.

Given the exclusions - any good ideas for a significant bargain on a higher price item?

    • +2

Works pretty good for quilts or a fancy pillow

Good to use on items that rarely go on sale like bean bag fill, hobby fill, cushion inserts, helium balloon time kits, mirrors, clocks, etc.

  • Hello, so does this work on Sale items? I am a little confused as it is not full price but it isn't a clearance item either!

    • No, this will only work on full priced items. Not items on sale or clearance (or other exclusions).

  • My VIP letter had no 40% off voucher included.
Instead there was a $5 off voucher on the bottom of the letter.
The barcode on this voucher appears that it may be unique.

The VIP member system is admittedly rife with problems, but it is supposed to work like this: the more times you shop with the VIP card, the more benefits you will receive. If you shop infrequently, you may only get every 2nd/3rd catalogue and a $5 voucher. If you shop frequently, you should receive every catalogue and a 40% off voucher (or other vouchers/scratchies). Regardless, you can use this 40% off voucher on Ozbargain and Spotlight also usually releases the same voucher in national newspapers over the weekends.

  • I just join VIP Club and they give me $10 voucher. I went to the shop and bought two blinds for $131 each . Of course I used the voucher. But I dont think 40% discount real.

    • You get a $10 voucher when you join the VIP club online. This is different to the 40% off voucher that members receive in the mail/email with the catalogue.

      • When I handed in the other blinds i was about to charged full price. No 40% off. I was told they are.not on sale. So 40% sale is not real. Theblinds i bought is on sale for everyone.

        • You must present the 40% off voucher to get 40% off on one full priced blind. The voucher cannot be used on blinds that are on sale.

        • @foyya:
Hi Rep, i noticed instore that spotlight already had 40% off roller blinds. Would this VIP card add an additional 40% off?

        • @Bullion78: No, sorry. Please read above.

        • @foyya: Hello, Rep. I recently bought an Elna 2000 sewing machine and am wondering if this sewing machine table will fit it. Any idea? https://www.spotlightstores.com/sewing/sewing-equipment/semc…

Nothing in that store is full-price… so good luck finding a bargain…even though its all on sale lol

  • Anyone comment on the blinds (ready made) from spotlight versus going custom blind store manufacturing route?

    • Can only share our experience,as our window dimensions were well outside the ready made blind sizes so we had to go with custom. The sales lady was fantastic, and really helped in terms of colour coordinating. The blinds were made up quicker than the quoted time-frame, the staff communicated well with us in terms of scheduling. All was great until they were actually installed. Installer might as well have simply used a hammer to get them up. Left so much damage, we were renters who had permission from the landlord, we had to plaster a great deal of the wall and paint. It cost us far more than the blinds themselves. For the quality of product (which wasn't bad, but you wouldn't struggle to find pre-mades of same quality)if you have the option of buying some ready mades and are comfortable installing them yourself then that would be my recommendation over custom. We had 4 blinds that cost us $1100 including installation. Not convinced it was worth it personally.

  • Try to avoid the Castle Hill store, appalling customer service and the staff there don't give a damn. Found it easier and less stressful to buy online
