First time posting. Got email from them about the deal. Not sure if they are good or not. But at that price seem like a decent deal.

  • Are they local stock or OS stock?

    • +1

At this price. Unlikely to be local stock.

    • +1

Grey Import stock, with shipping it costs $715.

It was $687 at SS/$697 at DWI a few days back and still available now for $699 shipped DWI eBay so cheaper elsewhere for grey import.

  • I'm assuming they're grey imports. What's the warranty like if the V20 bootloops within the first 12 months? Has anyone dealt with this mob before?

    • +5

Crazy to buy LG these days

  • +4

Thank you Op, but never LG AGAIN.
NOT because of their free bootloop combo, but their irresponsibility after so many customers affected they didn't bother at all.

    • +3

Seconded. (Big) Company makes mistakes, but they are not man enough to honour a recall. Apple offers full refund for antenna gate, Samsung as well with their recent incident.

      • +5

Apple never offered a refund, only 25 dollars to US residents and a free bumper Case. everyone else in the world were told they were holding the phone wrong.

        • +1

They did. They gave free bumper case if you still want to keep the phone. If not, you can return and get full refund.

        • @wildstone: No they didn't. They told you you could get the free bumper if you were holding the phone "wrong" otherwise hold it "right". Never offered a full refund.

        • @jkim:

Yeah not sure, may be you are right then, but I remembered Steve mentioning about how low the return rate was blah blah blah with all the other BS stats, then went on to say that everybody will get a free bumper case. That somewhat implies that returning is acceptable.

In any rate, point is LG is unwilling to man up and take the plunge because that will cause massive loss… Well we will see if LG decision is the right one over time, whether people will stop buying their product because of this.

        • @wildstone: That's a big jump in logic. It's the same logic as NVidia claiming low return rates for the GTX 970 - it was low because they wouldn't allow returns in the majority of regions, NOT because people didn't want to return them.

As someone here said LG = looping garbage.

    • +2

      LG = looping guaranteed

My LG G4 just bootlooped 2 days ago after owning it for 15 months. My friends G4 also bootlooped after 12 months.

    • Are you able to break the loop yet ?

      • Must be in infinite loop.

    • I am so worried that my LG G4 will start bootloop soon. Is there any signs that indicate it will happen soon? I have been using it for almost 1 year.

      • No warning signs for me, I was just scrolling on Google Chrome and then gone.

        • Ok…..thanks.

        • @chengjianer:

If your really worried about the issue happening after warranty then why dont you do a warranty claim now and say it has a bootloop issue but delay sending your phone in until the issue actually occurs?

        • @orange123:

Umm, good advice, i might just do that as well.

I bought it through Kogan's deal last year, i believe that they have 1 year warranty, but i can already imagine it won't be easy to claim, especially i don't know when the stupid bootloop will happen.

  • +3

Mate, good on you for at least posting something, but there's quite a few eBay listings for around the same price.

    • +1

      Sorry mate didn't know

  • +4

Don't think its fair to neg a deal based on past performance of other phones by the manufacturer. Neg if the deal is no good, sure.

    • +1

Its not just the phone. Its how LG treats customers (very poorly). I had so much trouble getting my phone fixed when my G4 bootlooped even though it was under warrenty. Took 6 weeks and many phone calls. Honestly i was so fed up. Btw LG has NEVER formall acknowledged that there is a manufacturing issue with the G4.

Thats why there is so much LG hate. Why whould you not neg this sort of shit service?

Import stock with local warranty service?

    From their website:

Enjoy peace of mind when you purchase a new mobile from Think of Us. With Think of Us repair warranty you are provided with FREE protection from the cost of repairing a defective device for a year from the date of purchase!

As a further commitment and devotion for better customer service and sales experience, Think of Us is happy to announce a warranty repairs partnership with Xtreme Communications.

From 01/09/2012 customers who have purchased products from Think of Us are able to have their in-warranty products repaired at any of Xtreme Communication's many retail shops and Kiosks.

I actually rang Xtreme a couple of weeks ago when I was looking into this phone, and these guys. Xtreme did confirm that they do indeed offer a warranty service for thinkofus. Don't know if it means much, but that's the info I got.

Sooo… maybe having that local warranty from a 'bricks and mortar' kiosk may be worth the few extra $$ over the ebay importers. Unless you want full security and buy from JB or the like for an extra $200.

I just got shafted by T-dimension when my G4 bootlooped a few weeks ago.

    • that's actually interesting

  • Seems ok price but cheaper on eBay.
