Cheapest ever according to 3camel.

This is powered by USB and the power adapter is 110-240v compatible. So you could either not use the supplied adapter at all and use any USB adapter, or just buy a plug US to AU plug converter.

Doesn't require the hub/base station unlike the standard Arlo cameras. This also has 2 way audio whereas the wireless arlo has no audio (and is 720p and battery powered only). The Arlo Q is 1080p.

Can save an additional US$5 if you're eligible to reload your gift balance with $100 to get a bonus $5.

  • The only thing going for this Camera is that it's fully wireless. What's the point buying it wired. Much better options available for that price.

    • Perhaps, but another benefit is that you get free 7 days worth of cloud storage which many vendors don't provide.

I can't speak for others but I am considering it for indoors and moving the wireless units for outdoors only.

This also has 2 way audio whereas the wireless arlo has no audio.

      • Cheers. Updated the description.

The Arlo Q needs to be wired to power so it not fully wireless. It's not "weatherproof" so is an indoor camera.

The Arlo is fully wireless as it is powered by battery, "weatherproof" and can be mounted outdoors.

I have 4 Arlos mounted outside around the house and an Arlo Q inside near a powerpoint.

      • How is the quality on the Arlo? I have 2 camera's at the front of my house, but there is a bit of a dead spot. I'd like to put the Arlo on the upstairs eves to cover this, but am worried the distance from the ground will affect the image…

If you want to see a face try to keep the distance within 2 metres. Even within 2m don't expect HD quality, its good but not great. Can never get the same quality as in those youtube videos.

I'm happy with the Arlo cameras. For me it's about being notified when there is movement around my house. I like the geofencing feature. It turns on the camera when I leave the house and turns off when I approach the house. It works 85% of the time. I have 4 cameras outside, 2 are exposed 100% to the weather and there have been no issues with them. Only disappointment is the lag b/w motion detection and recording. I don't have the exact lag in seconds but is it probably around 2-3 seconds.

Disappointed with the Arlo Q. It's meant to be 1080 quality but I don't see much difference compared to the Arlo. Also the wifi is weak on the Arlo Q.

  • Has it gone up to $149US or am I doing it wrong?

    • Ah looks like it's gone up now. Didn't last long as I only got the 3camel notification 8 hours ago
