    Dealbreaker…

      damn it

    • +2

Not if you know how to use this: https://fakenumber.org/australia/mobile

      • +4

Shouldn't have to. 150 points is like $1? $1 isn't worth the effort.

    • +1

NO bargain here, and they phone and annoy you

    • 0000000000 is accepted as a number; there's no obligation to put in a real one.

      • That's what I did as well.

  • Thank you for completing our survey. To show our appreciation, we would like to give you 150 Qantas Points. Your points will appear in your account within six weeks. If you would like to find out more about Qantas Assure, visit qantasassure.com or call 13 49 60.

  • There isn't a star next to the number part, however when I tried to fill the form in with it blank it said it needed to be filled in

  • +2

Qantas assure is over priced. If it's competitive I wouldn't mind to join.

  • +6

My number has always been 9481 1111

I really do hope they can still order some pizza through that line

    • +1

They have your number from you Qantas FF account…

      • +1

But it asks for a mobile number in the survey, let's hope the two departments don't talk to each other

        • +6

let's hope the two departments don't talk to each other

Qantas is not longer a government owned company…

        • @jv:

          mine was 04 9881 1111 :D

  • +7

Qantas points are worth very little. Probably the least of any airline.

150 points are worth less than $1.

Do the maths as to how much you need for a ticket taking into account that even if you have enough points for it you still pay heaps of taxes.

    • +7

      But it's free

      • +2

I have posted this deal but have not gone for survey yet ☺

However this is as good as CR when they increase woolworths rewards from 5% to 5.25%

Good thing in this bargain is you dont spend $500 or so to save $1

        • $400 to save $1

    • +4

Yes, but it helps keep your account alive if you don't have any other ways to earn points. Since I don't fly QF much and Woolies did away with the points for shopping, things like this survey come in handy.

      • +2

Woolies did away with the points for shopping

FWIW earning QFF points at Woolies is back again, it's just annoyingly crippled by threshholds and restricted fixed points transfer dates and having to opt-in… bunch of crooks, but it is possible if you're a regular shopper there…

I got credited in December, thus I'm not bothering to do this fresh hell of telephone-spamming lameness…

Seriously, what on earth is Qantas thinking? They know we hate calls and will just tell them to bugger off, they know only a tiny percentage of the population will convert into a sale (likely the elderly, the sick, and the mentally vulnerable)… are they really that predatory and desperate?!

        • +3

Yes, they are. This is very clever marketing. By them giving you something up-front (points) you are psychologically pre-disposed to at least listen to them to return the favour. Compared to a cold-call that will probably increase conversion rates 10-fold.

The percentage may still be low, but if instead of 1 or 2% they get 10 or 20% that makes up for many many points they give away.

As to Woolies: I am aware that I can get my reward points converted to Qantas points, but the rate is so bad that I rather take $10 off my next shop. In the past where each shop over $30 got you Qantas points at 1 per $1 spent I was happy with that. Not now.

      • Good point. Keeping the account active might be worth more tha $1.

      • Exactly this. Keep all your family accounts active folks! My other half lost 80k points or so when we went from 2 separate credit cards to 1 main card with a supplementary card holder. Extra painful since I could have just family-transferred the points into my account before they expired.

    • +1

I wish I could just walk up to a chick and ask her number by just giving her 150 FF point / $1.

      • +1

Have you tried? If you do that confidently enough you'd be surprised about your success rate.

Stick with points though , not $1. No chick wants to be that cheap, but most would not be aware of the low value of points :-P

        • +1

          "How YOU Doing?"
"What to get 1 step closer to your next dream trip? 150 FF is yours if I can have your number….."

          <<Worst pick up line ever>>

        • @itbargainhunter: It's all about being different to the 20 other guys who've asked her for her number that day…

  • -2

Will add them to the 400K we have, if they do call will get the short shift:)

    • +2

      Is that all? :)

  • They've made telephone number a compulsory field (even though they haven't put an * on that field). No deal for me. 150pts aren't worth being hassled.

    • +1

I gave them a genuine phone number that is registered in my name - and will expire in a few days. No hassle.

    • I gave them a bullshit number that will not answer at all. Surprised if I don't still get the points (but it's 150 x 3, so who cares).

  • +1

We only need to enter the FirstName, LastName, QFF number and a random 10-digit number as the phone number.

  • +3

I did the survey, they phoned me, I told them their price is not competitive with my current fund (true story) and they never phoned again! Im actually interested in their health insurance but only if it was the same price as my current.

  • -5

I hate qantas and telstra equally

    • +2

If only there was a survey within which you could vent.

  • Just ask who is calling and then say you've got the wrong number.

  • +1

Got the points last time around, never even called me!. Who cares, if they ring 10 seconds to say, sorry not interested. 150 pts is 150 pts, I dont care how I get them.

  • +2

I don't care for the points but… hell, I'm looking forward to a good chat about my health to someone who will listen for a change.

    • Thanks for putting a smile on my face early in the day.

  • doesnt this end up with telemarketers ringing you up all the time?
happened to me when I was trying to find car insurance and iselect pestered me for 2 weeks. had to block them
