The National Park Service just turned 100 years old! Celebrate the start of our second century by visiting a park in 2017. During ten days of the year, all National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone.

Mark your calendar for these entrance fee–free dates in 2017:
January 16: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
February 20: Presidents' Day
April 15-16 and 22-23: Weekends of National Park Week
August 25: National Park Service Birthday
September 30: National Public Lands Day
November 11-12: Veterans Day Weekend

    A couple of years ago I visited Yosemite on (accidentally) one of these free days - DON'T EVENT THINK ABOUT IT!
    Pay your $20 entry fee and visit on any other day.

        I visited both the coastal and volcanic portions of Haleakalā National Park during National Park week last year and found the crowds perfectly fine. But I could definitely imagine Yosemite turning into a nightmare.

        Ive only JUST booked Grand Canyon for the weekend after. Sounds like I did the right thing.
        Im not going to downvote the post but this is no where NEAR as good as the Canada annual pass

        Shame you don't respect your wife as much as you respect "Iranian" and "Yemeni" values. I certainly don't respect anyone who discriminates against my family. But then I also don't tar strangers with the actions of a government they have no connection with - I'm strange like that.

        The admiration of oppressive regimes abroad constantly baffles me. Perhaps we should be more concerned about people like you than radical religious immigrants?
