I was looking at OzBargain on where to buy discount iTunes cards, and couldn't see any current deals. So I looked elsewhere online and saw that the gift cards website listed that Big W was set to sell iTunes gift cards at 15% off from 23 Feb to 8 March 2017.

I can see that's not as good a deal as the 20% off that Officeworks used to offer, but I can't find any of the other usual suspects offering discounts - nothing at 7-11, Woolies, Coles etc. At least, not that I could find online.

I don't know how happy Oz Bargain will be to have a presumed competitor's listing on their site, or how happy Gift cards might be to be listed at Oz Bargain, but I've no association with either organisation and am just sharing the news, seeing as I could see other people wondering where to buy iTunes cards from now. Deal Source: Giftcardsonsale

Until 8 March, from the 23rd of Feb, Big W looks like the place to get 'em.

Hi Joyoz - I'm sure this is all straightforward, but maybe you or someone else can confirm.

If I buy a $40 Woolworths eGiftcard, and then open the PDF from my email on my phone when in Big W… this will pay for the $50 iTunes card that has the 15% off and the additional 5% discount, right?

Or will there be some issue that requires the purchase of a $40.01 Woolworth eGift card or something else?

Logic dictates it's simple and straightforward - I just buy a $40 eGiftcard and get my $50 iTunes card for $40 tomorrow… just want to make sure this is what the case is before I order the eGift card and then rock up to Big W tomorrow…

      Cheers and many thanks

      Alex.

      • Discount would depend how many you're buying but if you get $50 itunes at 15% off which is $42.50 then buy an cashrewards giftcard you would be paying $40.37 for $42.50 giftcard. Just reminding people they can get 5% off the giftcards. So if you had a $100 egift card and bought it for $95 then bought $100 in giftcards you would save $15 so it would cost $85. but would have only paid $95 for the card. Depends what you spend.

    • awesome, got a $170 value egift card for $161.50 to use on $200 itunes card!

  • I think someone posted if you buy min $50 grocery at Coles, you can get 30% off itune card.

That deal was removed as it was a page/promo from 2015

30% off iTunes at Coles ($50 Purchase Required) (Expired on posting)

      • Yeah it's weird that a deal from 2015 hasn't been wiped from the Coles website yet. I guess Coles doesn't care too much about its site, or that expired deal would have been removed about a year and a half ago! :-)

  • What does everyone use their iTunes cards for? I got a $100 voucher for my birthday but I don't have a MacBook and I use spotify :/

I use it for apps. I think you can use it to pay for a Netflix service?

    • +2

See this comment thread, most popular use seems to be Netflix payment as Smigit mentioned.

Otherwise Movie rentals, Apple music, iOS apps/games or other subscription stuff such as Stan, Youtube Red, MLB TV etc.

      • I assume youtube red isn't the same as redtube? ;P

I use them to pay ATO fees

      • +1

        Great reference!

For those that don't know, there are scammers claiming they're from the ATO and that you must pay your fines with itune gift cards. There are stories of ppl who paid thousands of dollars in itune cards.
Have to wonder how the scammers are going to withdraw the funds from the itune cards.

You get 20% off iTunes cards from here

    http://www.chrisgiftcards.com

Well the $50 and $100 ones anyway. I've bought from him before and couldn't be happier. Electronic delivery, and no need to deal with inconsistent CR. he's a ozb member too I believe.

      Hi Spamuel (and Joyoz above)

Great name both! Also - thank you for the post. Rather than go through the rigamarole of the eGiftcard for the time being, I took Spamuel's advice and bought a $50 iTunes gift card from the Chrisgiftcards website.

After payment via Paypal, Chris responded about an hour and 10 minutes later with the iTunes card number. I redeemed it on my phone and it worked immediately and perfectly.

So - thanks to you both for the great info. I'll definitely be using Chris again - he has pre-paid phone recharges too at discounted prices - and the Cashrewards site is something I'll use, too.

      And thanks to OzBargain!!

      Best regards

      Alex.

Thank you very much for the positive feedback! I have been a member of OzBargain for a few years now. This is just something that I do outside of my normal job. Sometimes I can reply with the codes within minutes. Otherwise it will normally be no more than 3-4 hours, unless I am asleep…

        Cheers

        • Hmmm. I'm still waiting ordered about 8 hours ago.

        • @ilostnemo: What name? I have sent all the codes?

        • @Teamhickey:
