Men Underwear - What Do You Wear?

Hello gentlemen of OzBargain. Just wondering what brand of underwear do you wear and how much do you pay for them?

The 40-50% Bonds sales won't do anymore because the products, whether briefs or trunks, don't last very long. The elastic stretches after only a few washes.

Right now I'm using cheap, generic underwear but they're not very comfortable, though they have survived more washes than any Bonds. Looking for something with more comfort and longevity - briefs or trunks no matter, I like to rotate. Please recommend me some brands, thanks.

Edit1:
A few Kmart and Aldi suggestions with attractive pricing. Shall try. A couple Uniqlo Airism suggestions, will also try.

Edit2:
Overwhelming response, thanks guys. Heaps of solid suggestions.
These look promising, thanks 2jzzzz.
The most popular seems to be Uniqlo Airism and CK underwear.

  • The Kmart Alphasport long trunks. They're similar to UA or similar long knicks, but only $8 a pair. Still going strong after a few years.

  • +1

My goal is to own 365 pairs of underwear so I can do only 1 wash per year.

    • So at the end of the year you'll have 364 dirty, stinky undies. Nice.

Aussiebum in a sale - often FROM $10 a pair with free postage. 100% Aussie made and the basic ones last for ages. Prefer not to store my meat and two veg in storage units made in sweatshops when local products are better and can be the same price.

    • +2

Second that…. I find the R&D behind these Aussie undies really amplifies my package.

Yes aussiebums are great quality. You have to try a few to find out whats good though. Some are better made than others.

  • At home - none
    Work - usually plain briefs
Casual - Obviously (nude - brand) - comfortable and not restricting, but sometimes a bit of a "bulge" is obvious.

But then I don't care since women can wear anything in the name of "comfort", "empowerment", "women's rights" "freedom" etc etc (ie clothes which use to be the domain of prostitutes), I think men should too, without being branded gay, rapist or perverts.

  • Starter Trunks from the US via Walmart.

  • Emporia Armani or Tommy Hilfiger?

They're always on sale at Catch Of The Day.

But the Armani seem to be sold out at the moment.

  • big W multi packs, usually cheaper than K mart can be worn both ways….

  • I bought a huge stack of boxer briefs on the cheap from Jockey when I visited the US a few years ago. They're still in great condition today.

Might be too expensive to buy in Australia though.

  • +1 H&M

  • Boxer shorts so my testicles don't overheat.

My sperm count is through the roof.

I bought some Primark cotton boxers when in the UK. They are made of beautiful smooth and breathable cotton.

I liked them so much, I bought another 30 pairs.

I gotta to get some new ones because they are dwindling in numbers as the elastic isn't elastic anymore.

  • Bonds Mid length- Trunk - no more chafe on warm days! Ever!

  • Last time Rivers had a sale I bought about 8 boxer briefs for something like $24. I wear these most of the time and the quality is great.

  • Stonemen for me

    stonemen.com.au

  • What ever 10pack is the cheapest at big w/Target, they last the year!

  • Tommy Hilfiger
    Lewis

  • Freeball

  • Must try these from K-mart.
Almost like you are wearing nothing, comfortable and practical.

Sometimes the older patterns goes on special for like $10 or less when newer stock arrives.
    Keep an eye out.

  • Maxx from Target. Cheap but do the job perfectly, and last ages!

And the women I date really don't give a stuff about the brand of my underwear.

  • Andrew Christian Trophy Boy>kmart relaxed fit boxer>obviously anatomax are what I wear currently in order of comfort.

AC i get on special for like $15 US a pair for the bamboo tagless, anatomax are overpriced but I thought I'd give them a chance because they're Aussie owned at ~ $30 a pair usually. Kmart ones are cheap as probably like $15 for 3 pairs.

First and last are briefs with a largish pouch in the front to hold the goods and may not fit all guys. Mainly for showers and not growers.

Be wary though the former is a very overtly gay brand, luckily you can get them in a plain looking style in black. It's gonna be funny explaining if someone gay catches me wearing them by seeing the waistband one day (I'm straight).

I've heard good things about the uniqlo boxers and I'm keen to try them out. I think underwear can be a pretty individual thing though because no one I've talked to has ever had the issues I have finding comfort in underwear.

  • I find the elastane in the body of trunks gives up after 10-12 months and becomes loose, but this is with a weekly rotation, as a tradie, sweating and moving all day.

If the elastic band is giving out after a few washes, I'd suspect you are wearing the wrong size.

Big W and Target have these on special for cheaper (usually around $13pr) than I have ever been able to get them from the Bonds outlets, but the range is better at Bonds, though I don't really care about that.

    • keep them out of the sun or dryers to save the elastic

  • Bonds FOREVER.

    Aussie bums

  • CK.

Women actually notice the underwear men wear, this has been pointed out to me a few times now

    • Is it the main reason that you wear CK ? lol

      • I was out clubbing one night, and the group of girls I was with kept pointing out clothing, in particularly how CK was 'attractive'. I guess it's more or less a status thing.

I wear it for the brand, so that pretty much covers that reasoning as well.

        • I don't go with brands,even I did tried CK,B&G,Bond etc…

But the best and the most comfortable one is the lately found Uniqlo Airism

Also I wear them for myself, not for anyone else :)

        • +1

@Marcsie: That's fair enough. I like everyone else wear brands more for status I guess. I'm fine to admit that.

  • Uniqlo.

Bought 17 pairs at the last sale: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/281029

  • Aussiebums! Some of them make your package look huge! ;-)

  • +1

I used to wear the Bonds guyfront trunks but have found them not as comfortable anymore.
I now wear Alpha undies (trunks) from Kmart.
    These jocks are so comfortable.
Only bought them cos I was away and needed more undies and only wanted something cheap until I got home- but I ended up buying more and wear them all the time!
And three pairs for 12 bucks, what a bargain!
    Give em a try fellas!
