Brita Marella XL 3.5l w/ 1 Filter $10 @ Target P/U Only VIC Camberwell

110

Went to Bunnings just now and trying to grab a couple of this jug and foundthis on Target website and checked with Target Camberwell VIC, shows 10 in stock.

Shows in stock at Camberwell from Target website as well.

Since Camberwell is a bit far from where I was, I got it price beaten at Bunnings ended up getting it for $9 each at local Bunnings. Only mention in description knowing price match/beat isn't a deal.

Good luck hunting for stocks. There are about 6 left at Bunnings Hoppers Crossing, limited stock at Highpoint and Werribee.

I'd personally leave Target alone before everyone finishes sweeping Bunnings and so more ozbargainers can benefit from this low price.

  • They stopped selling Britta items at my Local Target (Leichhardt NSW) a while back so must be selected stores only.

    • Yes, very limited stock everywhere.

  • No stock perth cbd

  • Sometimes I notice black flecks of debris in my cup. Is this normal?

    • +1

      according to Brita:

The black particles are parts of one of BRITA's filter media, the activated carbon. The granulated activated carbon is made of coconut shells. Like each natural product, coconut shells are subject to natural variances regarding product quality. This can lead to abrasion of parts of the carbon into your filtered water. To eradicate any carbon dust which may be present, preparation of your cartridge is crucial.
Please prepare as per your cartridge instructions or see "How to prepare your cartridge".
Please be assured that the contents of the cartridge are food grade and completely harmless to yourself and if accidentally consumed will be harmless to health. Their presence will not affect the performance of the cartridge.
If there are still dust or particles present after this initial preparation, then we would suggest that the cartridge is removed from the system and re-prepared by:
      MAXTRA, Classic & Multifit cartridges:
Vigorously shaking under water, then re-install and flush through with two litres of water.
      Inline, P 1000 & A 1000 cartridges:
Flush a futher two litres of water through the cartridge.

      • That's no help. It didn't happen when I first put in the filter. It happened a few weeks later for a couple of days. Then I didn't notice it again.

If I didn't fit it properly, I would expect to see this stuff immediately.

        • Its more rare than often but on occasion can happen (once to me over approx 15 filter replacements).
          As noted in their disclaimer/instructions:
Please be assured that the contents of the cartridge are food grade and completely harmless to yourself and if accidentally consumed will be harmless to health.

If this is always occuring then something isn't right and perhaps a faulty filter. Give Brita a bell and ask if concerned or return the filter to supplier.

        • I noticed after flushing a new filter, bits can stay around near the top of the filter and not sink to the bottom. I took the filter out and rinsed those bits out.

  • This looks like an error on the Target website I passed by the Camberwell Target last night and they didn't have it. They only had the smaller 2.4L one for $35. Be quick to take advantage of this before it gets corrected.
