  • Do we still need a Visa for JApan ?
    Googles telling me 2 stories

According to the official web site, as long as you can land in Japan by an overseas passport, you are eligible to use this ticket.

    • you have never needed a visa for Japan

      • Japan issue Visa on arrival for Australian passport holders.

        • wrong

        • @sumoyoshi:

Sorry about that. What I meant to say is Australian passport holders can stay for up to 90 days. I incorrectly meant the stamp you get in your passport was a visa on arrival but as you mentioned that is wrong.

    • Just note: because this does affect myself (moving to Osaka Apr-June on Visitors Visa, Reentering on WH Visa)

      Eligibility Criteria 2
Passenger must hold a passport issued by any country other than Japan, or be a Japanese passport holder with permanent residency outside of Japan.
*Not applicable to holders of non-permanent residence permits and work permits.

  • What dates is this deal available for? I searched but kept coming up with error windows.

    • Nevermind, misread the deal!

  • Quick question what is the difference between Visit Japan fare and ANA experience Japan fare?
ANA have 2 separate webpages for these, but the price seems to be the same?

    JAL has the same

with JAL, try checking out their Sakitoku Advance Purchase fares.
      https://www.jal.co.jp/en/dom/waribiki/super_sakitoku.html
I bought the 75 days before departure ULTRA Sakitoku last year for both my Tokyo-Hiroshima & Sapporo-Tokyo flights and they were cheaper than the JAL Japan Explorer Pass fares.

When booking, you have the option to add 1000 Yen to upgrade yourself to Class-J (kinda like premium economy) if there's any availability. These get sold out quick.

      • Woah how did I not know about this earlier - and I thought the Explore Japan prices were good (for the flight I had to purchase, which is normally closer to $500)

  • Airdo have 8800JPY deals like this, but can't seem to find a way to book a ticket…

    • you could try reading.

          works fine

If you are struggling due to you not being able to read the text on the screen you can always just phone ANA and they will make a reservation for you over the telephone.

    • For airdo, you have to call directly to book. Try skymax and jetstar

      • Airdo does work online. But the "Welcome Hokkaido" promo (for 8,800 JPY) only works for flights before the end of March.

Anything after that, next best offers are the early booking discounts (75days before flying for 75% off etc)

      • btw i hate that song… =P

JAL and ANA have similar deals

Peach and Jetstar Japan are fine for most domestic Japan flights otherwise.

And if you aren't travelling that far, Shinkansen are always an option.

  • Airdo seems to be cheaper
e.g. tokyo haneda to sapporo new chitose, before end of march, is 9090JPY ($106, incl airport tax). 20kg check-in allowance
the booking system is a pita unless you can read japanese though, even with google translate

  • $250 return from tokyo to okinawa (where shinkansen isn't an option) is a great deal.

Amazing part of the world too, we stayed on ishigaki and it was tropical paradise, Japanese style.
Very different to the mainland in good ways.

  • Have a look into these Advance Purchase fares too guys.

Might be cheaper than the ANA Experience JAPAN ones. :)

Was comparing them last year with JAL's SAKITOKU Advance Purchase Fares. Both had very similar pricing. Ended out going with JAL because they have newer seats. https://www.ausbt.com.au/jal-upgrades-domestic-flights-with-…. The class J upgrade for 1000 yen extra was so worth it!
