This was hugely popular last year (143 upvotes) when it went on sale, and it's back on sale again today!

Keep the essentials close at hand with the Lowepro StreamLine 250 bag. This lightweight and durable satchel features padded walls, multiple compartments, soft touch lining and a dedicated tech sleeve to keep your tablet safe and scratch-free. The adjustable strap, expandable gusset and secure zip closures make this versatile bag the perfect everyday companion.

Last year's deal

From Ozbargain member Regravity

Great construction, comfortably fits an iPad Mini 3/4 and a Kindle Paperwhite 2 (and cameras of course!) in the padded front pockets.

Considering they are usually $59.95 - $69.95 depending on the retailer, these are a bargain at $15.00."

PADDING in the tablet compartment (right down to the base of the pocket)
PADDING in the camera/accessory pockets (under second zip).
NO PADDING at the bottom of the bag's main compartment. Dropping it roughly on the ground is not a good idea for sensitive items in the main compartment.
NO PADDING for the outermost pockets (under the velcro flap)
NO PADDING on the velcro flap itself.
NO PADDING on the strap.
NO PADDING on the unsecured back 'slide-in' pocket.

Good for what it's intended to do. Well-constructed.
Not as safe as 'ugly' padded bags (ie. those with greater bulk) but then that's what you get with the slim compromise.
unzipping the zip at the bottom of the bag is good for expanding the main compartment.
Good price at $15. RRP is ridiculous.
Better value than the CatchOfTheDay deal on the smaller Lowepro Streamline 150, in my opinion. But it depends on what size you want.

FYI It tells me no stock online, so seems like a store clearance.

    • +2

Yeah I think it was in-store only last time as well but they were available in store according to the OP.
Hopefully there are plenty available in-store this time.

  • +2

Brilliant day bag for just general use too. Love the padded pockets for my phone and power pack, enough other pockets and size for my things. Do I need a spare - hmm.

  • Has anyone seen it is store?

Guy behind BigW Macquarie camera counter said he haven't seen it before

    • Funny story….
I was just at the Big W Macquarie camera counter and asked the guy about this deal and his exact words were "Lowepro? I haven't seen that before"
Then I showed him this comment and he couldn't believe it. He checked his roster and he wasn't rostered on 5th March so it must have been another guy behind the counter with the exact response?

      • Too funny. I bet is the same guy.

Big W fountain gate, there's probably 20 bags left

    • Awesome!!

      • They are showing up as full price on the point of sale , however $15 on the price checker. A friendly staff member came down to scan the price , and confirmed it as $15.

  • Does anyone know if this can fit a dslr?

    • +3

In the last deal this was posted and might be helpful:

      no… its too small for a dslr…
you may probably be able to fit in the body separately really snug with lenses separately…
you may also be able to put a dslr in the main compartment but then its not padded and there are no partitions…
so ur gear might get damaged…

      i wouldnt suggest this for a dslr…

      • +3

I think the suggestion was going to be the Lowe 150

    • Awesome, thanks for the update.

    2 hanging up at Arndale

Bought one last year, intended to use it for electronics. Being used as a nappy bag. Easily fits 5+ nappies, pack of wipes, bottle of sunscreen, insect repellent, misc. first aid items, multiple pairs of sunglasses, camera, wife's wallet and phone, and still has room for a day's worth of snacks (I swear, get those kids on a train and it's like they haven't eaten all week). The only thing we don't have room for is a proper sized water bottle.

Clicked on the 'Camera Accessories' category on the big W website and apart from the usual tripod and memory sticks, they also have listed a Queen size airbed……..

The Mrs picked up 1 for me from Big W Kilkenny SA about an hour ago. She said there were a few more left.

    • Thanks. I'll update the post.

      • Opps, Arndale & Kilkenny are the same place. I need to learn to call it by its proper name (which is Kilkenny)

        • I used to call it Westfield Arndale, then Centro Arndale and now is is Armada Arndale.
Calling it Kilkenny avoids any confusion.

        • Thanks, updated.
