Did you even read the link you just posted?

  • Would be better if it was network IP based.

    • that's what i was thinking… i almost bought one thinking it was….

      • Can anyone recommend an IP wireless based camera? I need a decent one asap!

        • Axis makes decent ones with good quality hardware and just as importantly, well-designed firmware. But you're looking at $300-400+ each for their entry-level IP cameras. The $100-200 jobs from Netcomm, Linksys, Swann, etc. and the numerous eBay ones tend to be unreliable and have thoughtlessly-designed firmware. Working fine for a week then randomly ceasing to function is a common feature of cheaper IP cams.

  • Great thing about unencrypted, analogue wireless transmission is you can recruit your neighbours to help watch over your home. Just keep an eye out for any suspicious vans parked nearby as they may be watching too :)

  • Decent price for just baby monitoring etc. + from me

These are of very limited use in modern homes with wireless networking, cordless phones, tv senders all chocking up the 2.4Ghz band. I bought one ages ago (no where near $179 as claimed RRP) and basically shoved it in the cupboard within 30 seconds of trying to use it - WAY too much static and interference to be of any real world use. Save your money for an IP model or at least one with a digitally encrypted signal.

  • must be the old model….wesite has new one RRP $99
