  • This runs lollipop so you can tether through it with no problems, right ?

Best/worse phone I have ever owned.

The battery life is crap, it often mistakes taps for swipes when typing and it is painfully slow. The camera is dreadful and the build is nasty.

However I have had it for 5months and it has survived 20 or so hunting trips/bush treks and 2 months lost inside a damp swag, but do you know what? The little PoS won't die, so I give it that. Definitely more reliable the Samsung note 7 it was meant to stand in for temporarily.

Apologies for my ignorance but will I be and to use a Virgin sim in this as they use the Optus network?

        Awesome. Thanks heaps.

    • @chebot I use the same (optus prepaid) phone and it wasn't unlocked for virgin as I was hoping (had to unlock on ebay for a few bucks) - just a heads up!

Thanks heaps. Glad you told me.

      • Just in case anyone stumbles upon this. I bought this phone from Australia Post is has Optus branded firmware but accepts my Virgin sim no problems (this sim is post paid).

        • Thanks @chewbot, if I have to buy another I think I'll try Aus post. I got mine at coles and it has the same optus branded software; Virgin postpaid sim. I love this dumb little phone :)
