Chuwi Hi10 Pro Win10 Tablet 4GB/64GB - $140.09 USD (~$185.68 AUD) Shipped @ Zapals

340
20160010

Hey guys! This is my first deal post here, so hope I get it all right.
Since finding my MacBook Pro too heavy to take to uni, I have been on the hunt for a good tablet, and done lots of research on forums and OzBargain before settling on this one.

This is the best price I could find for the tablet at the moment (compared to AliExpress / Gearbest etc) due to Zapal's Easter promotion going on at the moment, paired with their coupon codes found on their website.

I think this is a good deal, and I hope you do too!

Official keyboards are available for ~$50 shipped on AliExpress. Not worth it from Zapal's consider it does not have Free Shipping like the tablet itself has.

Cheers.

Might want to read up on these tablets via Whirlpool threads.

    Here is one http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2572539

There definitely seems to be some Quality Control issues (often on Wi-Fi, by the looks of it), but read and seen plenty of people completely happy with their purchase, even months in. Slightly lower speeds don't bother me for the insane price!

    • And with that being said, that fellow's experience was with the Hi8, which was definitely meant to be more plagued with issues

Read the whole thread? Others have had issues with these tablets , you get what you pay for it seems.

        • +4

Yeah, I think I've read absolutely every comment ever made about these tablets over the course of the last 2 days, hahaha. I hope it all goes okay, but I am confident. I wasn't the one who negged you btw

          @Vinbie:

Note to oneself: Take Vinbie off of hit list, re-directed to Xmas card list.

  • knowing nothing about this tablet, the first thing that stands out is that it is only android 5.1.. :(

    • They are Intel CPUs so the Android is running in Remix OS. They are finally up to Android 6.0 bit I think it's behind the update curve because of the Intel issues and getting drivers to work.

      • Not all the Chuwis/cubes use remix. Dime are straight up Android (from what I can tell in my reading).

        • The product listing for this tablet says Remix OS.

      • So this unit comes with Android 5 and will have OTA update to Android 6 straight away?

Can somebody talk me into it please?

    • +22

You're a loser if you don't get this. We all bought one already.

      • +2

You talked me out of it, Thanks

        • You will never forgive yourself. Closure is a long way off. Your ancestors just slapped their foreheads.

@Make it so: Not the first time they've done that. Did you buy one?

        • @dylanando: nah, but nearly , for my 5 y/o :)
I think about two days ago, Gearbest had the keyboard for around $4 if you spent above $60. But not anymore I think.

  • The Hi13 is very appealing to me but costs twice the price. 69% larger screen size though…

  • I've read a heap about the tablets from Cube and Chuwi and despite the apparent QC issues I think they look amazing value. I've ordered a Hi12 (for $317 delivered from banggood), so crossing fingers it works OK.

Check out techtablets.com heaps of info (including in the forum on that site), and he has a very informative YouTube channel.

    Great price btw.

    • Techtablets is a great resource, for sure!! I was tempted by the 12, but I decided it was just too big for uni / general use as a tablet. Did you get a keyboard with it too?

      • Yep, I think a big advantage of these 2-in-1s is being able to use a decent keyboard which also boosts the number of USB ports.

  • i got the h12 for 300, 12 inch higher res and almost rival the ipad pro, but the android side of thing is lacking in polish and battery life control compare to phones. still waiting on the pen to test it out, the pen for h10 is also 256 level

  • Intel Cherry Trail Z8300

Arnt these all running Z8350 now?

    • +1

Good point, maybe this is old stock?

    • It says Z8350 now. Interesting. Definitely didn't a few days ago.

Would have been great if it had 4gb ram

I had a chuwi Vi8 and it performed pretty darn well… It's battery underwent massive swelling and destroyed the device 18 months after though. My biggest gripe against it was I don't think the screenw as glass and there was quite a few suspect apps preloaded on it. Other than that, it was good while it lasted.

This is a good price no doubt but if you are going from a MacBook Pro to this you're probably going to be disappointed.

    • I totally agree, but I have a 4ghz 16GB RAM Hackintosh at home which will be my main driver. This will be exclusively for uni and media. The MacBook Pro's battery life was getting so awful, and they all seem to get really hot + fans going loud

I bought one 3 months ago and it started to freeze randomly after a month.
now I can't use it for more than 10 mins
coz everything freezes and graphic becomes pixelated after 10 mins.

I know it's probably my bad luck. But my suggestions to this brand is:

    DON'T BUY.

    • +1

Is that in both Android + Windows mode? Wonder if it's software or hardware. Either way, get a refund, man - sounds like a quality control issue

      • it happens in Windows mode.
        didn't try Android mode.

Chuwi is Chinese brand no thanks.

  • These don't seem to get much cheaper.

  • Absolutely terrible WiFi but bloody good devices for the price. Not a deal breaker, just keep in mind you'll want a cheap wirelessN mini adaptor. Also highly recommend the keyboard dock.

  • Works well for the price. Newer models only though. From hibook pro and newer. It's wifi isn't 802.11ac so expect that. Most come with 2k res screen. Micro SD reader. Keyboard opt. 4GB ram. Good touch screen.

  • Has no-one noticed this was intended for a Wookiee?

    • Baca

  • Try to get it from another store. Zapals are extremely slow at processing orders and you will be waiting a long time.

    • That processing thing is actually just the time until they get given a tracking number. When it finally said that it had shipped, it was already a way through its shipping :~)

  • the code does not work even when logged in.
