90

Woolworths Mobile notified us about this offer, where before 4 April you get $15 off each month on their 4GB mobile plans. Usually $50/month + phone repayment, now $35/month + phone repayment. You get

  • Unlimited national/mobile calls & text
  • 4GB data
  • 150 international minutes to selected countries

You do get locked into 24 month phone plan — so check the minimum payments. For Oppo F1s and Samsung Galaxy S5 there's no phone repayment cost (thus $840 over 24 months). Aldi Mobile, TeleChoice or even Boost are better value for BYO phone prepaid plans on Telstra network. With Woolworths Mobile you do however get subsidised phone.

Poor value vs the Optus and Virgin options?

Kogan Mobile Prepaid Voucher Code: MEDIUM (365 Days | 5GB Per 30 Days) $209

$576 in total for 1 year, getting more data and not limiting yourself to an oldish phone and 2 year contract . And you never know there may be better plans in a years time with more data.

      1. the s5 is very old as at this point.
      2. Kogan uses vodafone while woolworths uses telstra who has better reception outside of cities.

Looking at the amount of upvotes for Kogan Mobile Deals, Ozbargainers do seem happy with Kogan Mobile's Plans and the value that comes with it.

I'm with Axelstrife on this one. He's not saying you're wrong, he's pointing out that SOME (not all) people prefer a Telstra reseller for coverage purposes. I'm one of them as I work across regional NSW and Optus/Voda is utterly useless there. The number of upvotes Kogan deals get doesn't really argue the right point.

          And that is fine

I'm just pointing out that there are other better options for people who want to save a few dollars and not be tied to a 2 year contract

        • @easternculture: Yep, no probs!

        • @HereBobButtons:

All a bit of a moot point as its showing that the Gal S5 is now out of stock :/

You guys know its Telstra wholesale, not Telstra proper right? It might as well be Vodafone as Telstra wholesale is their price competitive option.

with my past experience with aldi mobile (who uses telstra aswell) reception still greatly destroys vodafone or optus when outside of cities.

        • Mate I've got the S7 Edge with Woolies and it works in places Optus and Voda don't get within 100km of. "It might as well be Voda" is way off the mark.

        • @HereBobButtons: The coverage maps show Voda, Optus and TW to be so close its not funny. Its always worth noting that its TW, not Telstra proper. I have used them all. None compare to Telstra proper, and that distinction needs to be said.

    • Also note that while it's 2 year contract, you are actually provided mobile services for 2 years. 2nd year of that Kogan Mobile service is going to cost another $299 (unless you port out & then port back in as a "new customer").

      • 2nd year of that Kogan Mobile service is going to cost another $299 (unless you port out & then port back in as a "new customer").

The Kogan 30% off yearly code was working on existing accounts too as per This comment

But regardless, the ozbargain way is to port out and back in

  • I think the S7 for $55/month is a decent deal for a Telstra reseller. Basically the same as this deal but Woolies instead.

  • What about the Optus 25% off family and friends offer?

  • i am even not satisfied with aldi $35 6GB 200 international call prepaid.same telstra network.
