        I bought from the online sony store so there was no real customer service, other than it turns up in a week..

        If you're referring to Teds, I've bought a couple of items with them in the last few years and been a very pleasant experience.

        Out of interest, how did you know they were new items? Are refurbished items traditionally packaged differently or labelled as such?

        @Mega Vanillish: Ahh.. i was referring to the non ebay store..

        New items are pretty obvious. They look, smell and feel new.. never been previously molested hehe.. That said, i've bought a couple of refurbished items in the past and it's obvious that they are refurbished.. small marks, settings have been changed.. manuals been opened etc.

        I think the most likely explanation is that Sony/whoever can't/don't want to advertise stock as new, for half price etc bceause Gerry Harvey might get upset spit out of his morning coffee when he realises he can't compete. Therefore Sony gets an angry call from pee'd off Gerry, so they get around it by say.. 'refurbished'.

  Decent deal, but it might be hard to beat the "boxed damaged" mk IV deal.

  For an extra $230 I just got the mk V version yesterday with the CYBER code. There was only one in stock though. I wonder if they'll list any more.
