@Tetsuma - can you PM me with the best offer for the OLED ??please Or send me your contact number, will call you.

    • PM Sent.

  • Just bought the Hisense. Amazing TV. Great price. Harvey Norman and other big retailers should price match - Able Home and Office is a chain, same product, and it's just a normal sale price.

Also - with the Hisense, with a manual firmware update (over USB, not online), it does now support HDR over HDMI. I can confirm that this works, my PS4 Pro now recognises this TV as full 4K, and HDR. Uncharted 4 looks incredible. $1157 for a Full 4K and HDR TV is unreal.

  • I am just after a decent TV, which has all the new bells and whistles like Netflix and YouTube and is this model mentioned above a Smart TV with Wireless internet and 4k. What sort of warranty does this come with??? And what series is this one for 1157$ Please reply back with your comments so that I can make a decision.

Hi shan4ever. The warranty for hisense is 3years and the series is K3300UW (series 3)

      (I currently work with Tetsuma)

      • Thanks for your quick reply.Sorry for asking all these questions.I am not really into TV's so a bit confused.I just need a decent TV at a Decent Price.I have been using a Samsung for the last 5 years and its been pretty good …its working fine but …I feel like getting upgraded.I have never used a Hisense is there much difference between the series 7 and series 3 that would make a difference for a normal user just watching normal TV and Movies. Is there any other recommendations around the same price range or a tick above …

        • +1

The series 7 has an upgraded LED panel over the series 3. You are more then welcome to come into our store at Mt Ommaney or call to discuss anything further

          @shan4ever

That's more or less my position too. My 4yo (dumb) Samsung works fine but it's only 32" and is too small these days.

Apparently the differences are this, from @tetsuma's pm to me - "Differences are pretty straightforward:
8-bit panel on the Series 3 and 10-bit on the Series 7. So while OzBargainers are mentioning the 65" being able to display HDR with a pseudo firmware flash, it doesn't have the ability to output the correct HDR colours. (HDR is an expanded colour gamut. 8bit is capable of 16.8 million colours, 10-bit is one billion colours. HDR assumes an 10-bit panel is available for output). Additionally, the Series 7 is brighter, 100hz, has local dimming (ability to limit backlight in certain areas on the TV to increase contrast), and is edge-lit."

There may be more but my question now is do I need the 7 or 3 series, would I be able to tell the difference between them by just looking at the picture - I will find out tomorrow at a store.

@Tetsuma - can you please put a comment with the best offer for the OLED ?? and also give suggestions on best best value TV's around this price range.and is it really worth having a OLED ones ???

    • This OLED is probably the only one you are going to find at this price with also having in stock. This unit was previously priced at $2799. If you wish to discuss different options of TV's, feel free to PM me.

    • Hello Shan4ever!

Sorry, i've been a little under the weather. If you'll allow new private messages then I would be happy to go into depth with you regarding our TV range. Alternatively, I could send our store number to you and we could have a proper conversation if you prefer!

@tetsuma please let me know if you have 65m7000uwg in stock and what would be best price for it.

    Thanks

  • Does anybody know if there is any issue with USB playback (what I do a lot of) of some file types on Hisense TV's? I saw it mentioned on a WP thread but can't find anything substantive on the issue.

    For instance, when looking at the specs for Hisense 55K3300UW – https://etcpg3uvcgs41q4ci23mfssr-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-… – and Hisense 55M7000UWG – https://etcpg3uvcgs41q4ci23mfssr-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-… – all I see is DivX / MPEG4 / H264 / H265 decoders.

While looking at other TV specs I see this or similar - AVI/HEVC/MKV/WMV/MP4/M4v/FLV/3GPP/VRO/VOB/TS/PS, MP3/AAC/WMA Pro/FLAC/Apple Lossless/WAV, JPEG

Have Hisense just left the list bare or do their TV's not support those other video/audio file types?

    • Are you after particular file types? as I can check what i can in store for you.. There is also more then just file types to consider.. As an example, AVI can use different codecs and if not present, will not work.
Alternatively, You are more then welcome to bring some of your own content in to Mt Ommaney today and we can check them together

      • Not particular, just that it covers the most used and not just the most recent. I have contacted Hisense and we'll see what they say.

        • Being in contact with Hisense, they informed me that most of the majority of common file types used in today's video streaming etc are recognised by the unit, but once again, if obscure or unrecognised CODECS are used in the files, it may not recognise part of the files.

        • @Lokoris:

Thanks. I went to your Logan branch, good people there, and tried a few different file types and sizes. Looked good enough to me on the 3300.

Only nit, for me, was the fixed small size of the subtitles - too small (for me) to read easily and can't do without them.

        • @JH100:

          Glad to be of help.

  • Deal looks to be over. back to $1695. Probably a good thing because I don't really need it and it's been dangling like a juicy carrot for a week now.

    • We have extended the Mega TV Sale deals until the 16th of April

      • So this one is back to $1157 in store?

        • Here at Mt Ommaney, the prices were never changed :)

  • @Lokoris:

If you want OzB people to know that you should probably start a new thread with that information?

Edit ; this is supposed to be in reply to @Lokoris above but didn't nest for some reason.

  • I bought one from Mt Gravatt this morning. Very happy. No regrets.

    • Hmm maybe not so happy, the sun went down and my panel has heaps of flashlighting and backlight bleed issues. Not so happy when watching in the afternoon or evening. Going to call Hisense and able about it. I wouldn't leave the store without having a look at the exact panel you are buying.
